Just watched the show...

Weird wardrobe choices for the gals in the opening. Lauren looked liked she was in a high school production of Gone With The Wind, and Haley looked like she was starring in a contemporary version of Peter Pan.

I've never "gotten" James..don't relate to him, but it's obvious that as a stage performer, he's head and shoulders above the others.

Haley should be going home tonite ( BIG sigh)and Lauren will no doubt follow next week. However, Haley's got a career. I can even see her on Broadway. She's cute, perky, petite, and has a BIG voice. I was thinking Kristin Chenowith, but actuall, she's more like Linda Ronstadt ( before she gained 100lbs) Long ago I saw Linda in "Pirates of Penzance" and she was awesome.

Final, Scotty v. James....won't even be close...iT's James.

Did Haley just give JLo the “Whatevs” look? LOL.

If she didn't, I could definitely hear the look in her voice (if that makes sense :)

I'm not defending Haley, 'cause she did cop an attitude last night. And both of her song choices (especially "earth song") were terrible. But to stand there while pre-recorded/auto-tuner Lopez criticizes your singing has to be a lot to take.

Her back-talking Randy was even worse. I believe she'll lose tonight more because of that than her singing.

After so many seasons don’t these people understand that you don’t argue or lip off to the judges

Exactly.

It's like the castaways on Survivor showing up on the island and not knowing how to start a fire without matches. Have they ever watched the show? LOL

Hey guys!

Had to miss last week cuz I was in Boston (LOVE that town)and last night I had choir practice. Hope to be here tonight with you guys. It’s winding down isn’t it? Wow!

My take on last night-

Scotty- absolutely LOVED the first performance, thought the second was totally cheezy. He actually made himself look slightly on the gay side with the hand gestures. However, I was entertained and love him death anyway. His comments about GaGa were priceless and smart. His joke at the end and kissing the cross was perfection!

James- I thought both songs were good, typical James style. That’s the thing about James though isn’t it? He’s always consistent, always good, but I still don’t care for him. I think he’s gotten a little cocky and it adds to my dislike.

Haley- Seriously, if you haven’t learned anything from seasons past...STFU! Never never talk back to the judges. The more you talk, the bigger the whole you dig for yourself. She behaved in a petulant manner and she deserves to go. Her song choices were bad though she sang them well. But now, she is the weakest link. Time to go and I believe she will.

Lauren- So adorable, so good. When Jennifer said the thing about “Who is that?!” that’s almost what I was thinking. She came out of her shell and it was fabulous to watch. Did a great job with her songs, stepped it up and hopefully, will be around for next week.

I’m hoping to see a Scotty-Lauren finale. Long shot probably because it will no doubt be Scotty-James. Not that James doesn’t deserve to be there, he certainly does. I’m just really ready to see a girl winner again. Pia could have been it, and I still scratch my head on that one.

Winning it all- Scotty. The kid is just a born performer. He knows who he is and has stuck to that. He seems grounded, smart, comfortable and just an all around well-adjusted kid. He will take country music by storm. They will praise and reward him just as Carrie has been.

Scotty is bringing old country back. That’s my prediction.

QUESTION? Who is this Garner Scotty’s parents had on their t-shirts???

Casey came on the show saying that he was unattractive. I think he was so thrilled to “get” miss Haley that he probably lets her sass him like she did JLo and Randy.

But you are right — JLo is criticizing singers who are really good, when she really can’t sing at all.

My take.

Scotty - Sing about God & Country and no one will criticize you. Boring song, boring performance. 2nd one was fun, ableit corny has hell.

James - Nailed both of them.

Haley - I thought she did well on both although her attitude may turn off a lot of voters.

Lauren - Solid with both songs.

Going home: Haley. Why? Because she doesn’t have the tween votes.

” The other precious moment was when Lauren did her little shoulder shrug thing with Seacrest. She was adorable.”

Adorable and genuine. That’s what she has over Haley.

That’s what I said last week and I still think so.

Took a look at Dial Idol, fwiw, and was surprised to see James in 3rd.

I wish Haley had thought to bring up JLo’s precorded garbage! THAT would have been priceless.

He was. Didn’t you see Casey in the audience when Tyler defended Haley? He was cheering, so Casey was paying close attention.

I wonder if Haley sought Casey’s advice for songs at all during the last few weeks. Her choices remind me of the crap choices he sometimes made.

Last night when everyone was posting or talking about various versions of I Who have Nothing, I went to youtube and listened to quite a few versions. Bassey, Jones, Sparks, Elvis. That song, one would think would have been a Pia song type, but as hard as I try, I just can’t picture her singing it, because the song requires raw emotion and that’s why Pia was booted imo, she just couldn’t deliver the raw emotions.

Home office too hot to compute in. Anyway, here's my take: 1. James got my votes 2. Lauren got my votes 3. Scotty didn't listen to Gaga about the microphone. Instead of prancing around, Scotty should have been singing so that I could have HEARD him. The plaid shirt was all wrong too. Plaid doesn't look good on tv. 3. Haley inherited Casey's growl but is even worse when she does it on high notes. Haley's goin' home imo cuz she gave America a headache when she didn't need to.

Scotty, just sing. Don't prance cuz prancin' is why Jacob's history.

That's fabulous. UBL watching American Idol and drinking his favorite beverage, Coca Cola! So, clever, SJ. UBL's not watching tv any more.

BREAKING NEWS: Simon Cowell's X-FACTOR is holding auditions at the place I sing in Clearwater, Fl. How kewl is that? This was advertised on AI last night between songs. It's called getting an "audition pass". It was maybe a five second spot. There are singings stepping all over each other around here. I don't sing to compete but it's cool it's at the place I sing. People will be winding all around MY parking lot. We even have alligators there!

Tom Jones did I Who Have Nothing. My dad played sax for Tom Jones more than once. Tom Jones stuffed his slacks - my dad saw him do that before the concerts. Sue me, TJ. I’m sure other musicians saw it too.

Scotty was coming in wrong on Youngblood. That's the hook and title of the song and he delayed every time he was supposed to sing Youngblood. It was a subconcious mistake on his part and not creative license. It ruined the point of the title being the hook. He didn't sing into the mic either. So, Scotty's resting on his laurels right now so I don't support him any longer. Youngblood's a great song and he turned it into karaoke.

Haley's screaming serves no purpose. If she can't hit those notes, rearrange the tune. She gave me a headache and the screaming's not getting her any votes. Screaming is for Steven Tyler and Janis Joplin cuz they scream appropriately unlike Haley.

Final Scotty dig from me: Youngblood is a “story”. Scotty did not tell a story. He just pranced around and I couldn’t even hear him. The song starts “I saw her standin’ on the corner...” Did anyone hear that? Probably not cuz Scotty didn’t listen to Gaga who as oddball as she is, she can sing.
