What is better than good crappie?
sometime before Obama gets his a kicked | little old me

I don't think there is better fish to eat than crappie. Tuna is good, bass is OK, catfish can be tasty, but there ain't nothing better than good Arkansas crappie.

Now you’re talking! I like smelt for breakfast with buttered toast. Don’t care if there is eggs or not, just give me the smelt.

What bones? They’re easy to fillet. That and perch AND smelt = awesome late night fish fries with family and friends.

To be honest I haven't really tried a lot of the fish they catch back in the mid west and the south but I am Indian and from the N. West Coast and there are tons of really good fish up there. Then I've been living on Maui for 42 years now and have grown quite fond of all the Hawaiian fishes and there are a lot to pick from here. I’v never had a chance but would love to get into Cajun country to try their foods. I see them on TV and everything looks so spicy and good.

I was running my 1968 GTO all hooked up one night at 130-135 MPH and a good buddy of Lenny's nearly blew me off the road with his damn tan Camero.
Didn't feel too bad after I found out who it was. Told me he was doing 170 when he passed me :^)
Still see him every now and then in Houma, gear head of gear heads.

All I can muster is a hat tip to that Man. You had a ‘68 goat? Wow. I knew some of you guys back in the day, but that is ancient history now.

Everybody stay safe and have some fun. Eat some good vittles, hug yer loved ones, and remember who we are. Time for me to retire to the dream worlds.

God bless our beautiful country, and our awesome fish cooking chefs. And, like I said, I ain’t even a big fish guy.

But I know what I like ;)

I love fresh caught crappies....and trout, salmon, whitefish and catfish, even pan fried sunnies. but they're fresh water fish.

One kama'aina to another, there's nothing tastier than Ono in the saltwater.

Some of my fondest fishing moments as a kid was the crappie wall at Calaveras Lake south of San Antonio. Exactly 25’ down was almost a constant school of pan sized filets for the taking. My mom fried ‘em as soon as us boys brought ‘em in. Yummy!!

since your not a big fish guy, remember in the future, you never take the head off a trout when fixing it....eat with head on thats why I said broil until the eyes turn white...

REASON: Trout is the king of fish and you never behead a king..:O) PS I don't eat the head, the only food that looks back at you when eating it...LOL

Also good with thin slices of almond put on fish before broiling....

Granny-deep fried with almonds in the batter works fer me...;^)

WTC- wish I could remember the name of the saltwater fish a diving friend used to bring me. He called it “chicken of the sea”. According to him it lives amongst the rocks-won’t bite a line and you can’t net ‘em. You have to dive and spearfish it. Now, I like ‘speckled perch’ just as much as you do but that ‘chicken’ is the best tasting fish I’ve ever put in my mouth! If you ever get the chance-I highly recommend you try it.

Lake Superior White fish is also quite tasty..Superior is cold all the time and the White fish fillet is tasty. Down south I had blacken tuna steak that was to die for..Prior to that all the tuna I ate came out of a can...
