Prayers needed for my mother

We need prayers!

My 95 year old mother, Virgina, did not wake up this morning. She is still only semi-responsive in the emergency room at Sutter Memorial Hospital. When I arrived there from Stockton at 10:30AM here blood pressure was 53 over 37 and her O2 saturation level was 62%. I took her hand, which was very cold, and said "Hi Mom!" and she opened one eye and looked at me. When I asked her how she felt she mumbled "Awful!"

She then went back to being only semi-responsive.

Her BP is now much better and O2 is up to 87% on 100% oxygen... But she is still out of it.

The diagnosis is double pneumonia... But there also may be congestive heart failure.

At her age, I just want her not to suffer... Whether she is called home to God or recovers. What I fear is the horrid middle ground where she winds up with no quality of life in a nursing home and doesn't know who she is, who her family is, or what is happening to her and lingers forever in a medical limbo. She has left orders for no extraordinary measures to save her... And we will honor that. So prayers are needed for the best resolution for her... But God's will be done.

God Bless her.
I have a 93 year old grandmother who is the light of the entire family and has endured the loss of not only her husband 10 years ago, but the loss of her 2 youngest children (they were 54 and 62) in the last 4 years. She still lives in her own home, with my cousin and his wife.

The shared history of your mother and my grandmother is amazing. To have lived such a long life, such a blessing.

“Lord, hear our prayers today for our friend’s mother, hold her in Your awesome love and mercy, and comfort her family. AMEN.”

My only suggestion is to stay with her or have somebody else stay with her. Nobody wants to die alone, no matter what they say, and you or somebody else should be sitting there with her at all times.

We have that covered. I cancelled going to Christian retreat was going to this weekend. In addition to me, my wife, both daughters, my sister, and my best childhood friend—who my Mom always called her "second son"—who happened to be visiting from Indiana, are all here to sit vigil with her.

Some good news... She is more alert. She awoke and asked for my younger daughter—her caregiver—and was able to answer some questions. The doctor says that she is not out of the woods though. The numbers on all the tests look very bad.

I can’t hug my Mom anymore, she’s gone. If it’s OK, I’m sending one along for yours. God bless her.

Similar problems with congestive heart failure for my mom. BNP at
1500+ when my sister had her transported to the hospital. Down to
721 after a couple weeks of rehab, but she won’t be returning to live
at home on her own anymore. Mom is 83. It’s hard to recover when
you get old. I hope your mom pulls through.

I just want her not to suffer... Whether she is called home to God or recovers.

I am praying accordingly. God be with you all.
