There is more than one (1) issue here. I have 'issues' with "police checkpoints" and their legality. But that fact must be balanced with the presence of drunk drivers on the roads, the fact that illegal invaders are caught with their use and other persons under warrant for and in commission of acts contrary to law are also brought into custody with their use.
Its something that must be approached with these items in mind.
Also, I see you completely fail to acknowledge that these two (2) individuals were purposely seeking out this check-point with the intent of creating a disturbance. They were doing this to further their agenda of support for illegal alien invaders and the violation of U.S. Sovereignty and laws.
