If the kid getting punched was one of Holder’s people and a White teacher stood around and did nothing, he’d be up on charges of conspiracy to violate civil rights.

Nope. These administrators have adopted a policy of punishing those trying to solve problems rather than dealing with those causing them.

If my boy stood there and let another kid use him for a punching bag like that I would kick his butt again when he got home.

Why do you think the kid was hitting him? Because he knew he could, with impunity. He knew this kid would’t fight back.

Kids have to learn to fight back or get stepped on. Real life isn’t waiting for a teacher to step in. Real life is letting people know you will not be abused. YOu are getting hit already make the kid hitting you hurt, then he will leave you alone. If you get suspended for self defense, then take the suspension, it’s better than being picked on by every kid in class.

When I went to school in the ‘60s, we were taught to go to the teacher, any teacher, and you could get help.

Was also taught that if you stepped out of line, you would get a swat from the teacher, or stand in the corner, or a stinging ruler slap on the palm. Sidney P. in the movie, “To Sir with Love” comes to mind.

What ever happened to the ‘red hand’ in the window to signal kids that that house is a helpful house?

Like already mentioned here: The dang lawyers and the populace mentality of, get rich quick by suing.

Liberalism produced this crap.

I'm a retired Texas school teacher and have intervened between students fighting. Once I was pushed through a plate glass window. I was on Workman's comp for ten weeks from having tendons severed in my left arm. After that I just stood and watched after calling security. The district did nothing they did not have to do and had to be forced to do some of those.... I lost a bundle in lost pay! I did not belong to any union!!!

Taking the union out of the equation, with all the damn lawyers out there I dont blame him for not getting involved which is a shame. Although I fear stupid lawsuits I would have to do something, at least call the darn cops.

There are situations where it is appropriate for teachers to use force to protect students and times where they are amoral freaks who abuse students and should be in jail.

That might help you out with any confusion on the matter.

I have no problem at all ~ I managed to get a Vice Principal at an elementary school barred from teaching for life.

Didn't even have to hit her, but she did hit me!~ Not hard, but enough.

I was the parent.

Next, I'm going after her retirement from her many years in administrative work. She's still fair game.

I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with that. I can not believe all the violence and insanity at the schools these days.

I guess it is happening in society all over. Stay safe.

aside from the fact that the "teacher" is a union thug, that kid's flight/fight response completely is broken...

since it was a given he wasn't going to fight, he should of split right after the first punch was thrown without ANY response from the union thug overseer, he didn't...

It makes one want to move to a different nation where commonsense still exist.

I always break up fights if I am nearby. I’ve even seen cellphone vids of me doing it (and thought, “Those guys didn’t look that big at the time...) I work in a non-union state and my school system really doesn’t have much of a policy about it, although the unspoken, unwritten rule is male teachers are supposed to (not all do). I would do it anyway. It is just a necessary part of the job- if you want an orderly school, you have to make it that way.
