My guess is that is the same reason that cut the last Harry Potter film in half.
I’m talking about blu-ray edition. He released the blu-ray theatricals a year or so ago, and a lot of people were put out that they couldn’t release both on DVD together. I didn’t buy the theatrical, but I plan on buying the extended. There’s just so many that I have shelf room for!
You’re right, there’s only so much space in people’s homes. I think I have LOTR in every format and they need to stop. Although, all home video release decisions are made by Warner Brothers and the guy in charge of that division is a madman.
Hi Race,
It’s December 2011, Starz has the trilogy playing all month. Do you know if they are playing the extended versions? I caught part of one movie, which had scenes I don’t remember. Do you know what was added on? Was there enough to buy copies of the extended versions for 15 bucks on Amazon? Thanks, FReegards Race
No Idea, I bought the set! :)
and the very last one in Return of the King skips and I threw out the receipt before watching them all!
I was not impressed with the HD version, I thought just using my 1080P upgrade screen to the old version was okay enough, but, it was a nice picture
