Am I the first 'dummy' to ever post something SO off topic and foreign to FReerepublic?
There just aren't ANY forums (Regardless of topic) where folks respond as quickly as here!
I have this stuff that just 'exploded' and is taking over my lawn and have No idea what it is called or What will do away with it!?
Some answers that I have received from elsewhere are: shotweed, bittercress and clover.
Sure hope there's a weed expert around?

Roundup is a great product, but not for a lawn weed. Need something that will kill the weeds and not the grass. Walmart, K-Mart have numerous products that will do that.
The one growing up the lamp post is a clematis.

That is my neighbors antique plow that is being used as a garden ornament.
I buy the concentrate by the gallon and it last about 2 years. I used some today
Sedgehammer is a product that will killl nutsedge- but it has to be put on before the summer solstice or all you are doing is giving it a drink. That is per the UNL extension people. There are little thingies that look like very mini potato tulbules on the roots, which stay behind if you pull mature nutsedge- and every one of those mini thingies start a new plant.
uhhh if you Round-Up what is onh hyour side of the fence, being a systemic, it will hit the root system on the other side of the fence.
Being careful- what you hit with a systemic will kill other things if and where roots of more than one plant touch.
Is it really a grape vine? There is another vine - for the moment the name escapes me- looks for all the world like a grape vine- but is not. It is downright aggressive.
It's the flowers that had me confused....
Doesn't matter,the Ortho will kill it.

Not true, unfortunately. Roundup will not kill Nutsedge...........it'll kill the aboveground part, but not the nut below ground, so it'll come back very quickly.............
Black Medic can grow half as tall as you. It can be used as fodder.........
How are your store bought pepper seed plants doing?
"My Big Red HEB Bell Pepper project has produced LARGE green peppers. They're six inches long and three inches wide. Getting impatient for them to start to turn colors. For those who don't know or don't remember, My Big RED HEB Peppers are an unknown variety I purchased in our grocery store. I just picked the biggest, reddest one in the bin and planted the seeds. Camelots in the same patch are doing equally well but not quite so large. The Camelots we pick and eat green."
Temptation is to pick one for a little taste test. I look them over every day hoping for a color change and stay alert for disease and pests. I guess the real test might come in the Fall when I plant the second generation seeds.

I did not realize black medic could grow that big, thank you for the information. I knew there was a tall and a short growing variety of what I call hop clover. Many of these clover shaped plants blur into each other in my mind, I should renew my study of them since many of them are edible plants. Identifying plants is a handy survival skill besides being useful for property management.
