Correct and much of the human population was wiped out around that time according to studies, including the complete extinction of many large surface mammals.

I'm not sold on the plasma theory but it would explain much, if physicists can prove phenomenon occurs. Certainly major cataclysmic events occur periodically throughout history and something major seems to have occurred around 12,000 years ago, according to ice core studies. Are we due for another? Will it toggle us into another ice age? Will it again wipe out most of the land mammals and many of us? Lots more questions, but that results from seeking answers.
