Jane Fonda: "The Truth About My Trip To Hanoi"
JaneFonda.com ^ | July 22, 2011 | Jane Fonda

It is unconscionable that extremist groups circulate letters which accuse me of horrific things, saying that I am a traitor, that POWs in Hanoi were tied up and in chains and marched passed me while I spat at them and called them ‘baby killers. These letters also say that when the POWs were brought into the room for a meeting I had with them, we shook hands and they passed me tiny slips of paper on which they had written their social security numbers. Supposedly, this was so that I could bring back proof to the U.S. military that they were alive. The story goes on to say that I handed these slips of paper over to the North Vietnamese guards and, as a result, at least one of the men was tortured to death.

That these stories could be given credence shows how little people know of the realities in North Vietnam prisons at the time. The U.S. government and the POW families didn’t need me to tell them who the prisoners were. They had all their names. Moreover, according to even the most hardcore senior officers, torture stopped late in 1969, two and a half years before I got there. And, most importantly, I would never say such things to our servicemen, whom I respect, whether or not I agree with the mission they have been sent to perform, which is not of their choosing.

But these lies have circulated for almost forty years, continually reopening the wound of the Vietnam War and causing pain to families of American servicemen. The lies distort the truth of why I went to North Vietnam and they perpetuate the myth that being anti-war means being anti-soldier.

She’ll probably be cremated and have her ashes spread over North Viet Nam.

In any case, she’s not going to have a grave - if anything, she’s not going to give anyone the opportunity to do what you suggest.

I had the displeasure of sitting in front of her at an theatrical event about two years ago. She wore an ill-fitting wig, spoke in a really loud voice, and was surrounded by a group of women. She didn’t talk to anyone else. When she got up to speak at the event, her opening words were: “This event is really weird.” A groan of displeasure went up from the crowd. Odd lady.

Thank you. I had forgotten about her mother.

Her father, Henry Fonda, did not come off as the best father. He had some issues. Seemed like he was distant. And he was married four times I believe. Makes for a dysfunctional family and, I’m sure, an unhappy life for Jane.

I saw the film of her on the anti-aircraft gun. She didn’t just sit down sideways in the seat, as she implies in this account. She looked through the sight, she moved the gun around, as though she had actually been trained to use it. Then she turned to the cameras and laughed.

The reason she will regret it to her dying day is that the film still exists somewhere, and unlike most of her treacherous activities, it can be replayed for future generations. Someone is bound to know where that film exists, and I wish they would post it on YouTube. All I could find was still pictures.

“I wouldn’t go that far, I would rather she be saved, and see the light.

By the way, that was a rumor many years ago.”

I heard that same rumor, but there never seemed to be any regeneration in her spirit, and I suspect that she was wooed something akin to one of those “close your eyes and breathe a little prayer” altar calls. Now what she has written is known to be grievous lies by those of us that were in the service back then, and all liars will be cast into the lake of fire.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Rev 21:8

The good news for Hanoi Jane is that she is still alive and has time to repent up until death. “For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” Ecc 9:4

“I will never understand why she was never prosecuted for treason, or even any lesser offense.”

American has become soft on treason.

You are correct. She was an experienced actress from a family of actors. She knew what was happening. She knew what she was doing. She's trying to rewrite her history, like all lying liberals.

She was an extreme anti-war leftist. She went to North Vietnam by choice. No one made her go. By going there, as a famous American, she gave aid and comfort to our enemy. The details of her visit does not change the fact that she went there. But, the details do add to the seriousness of her crime.

I wouldn't want to live near her grave. That's gonna be one stinking place.

"why wait for more than 40 years"

Because it took that long for the traitorous slut to dream up a story that just might sound plausible to some. She's not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, you know.

“Some will piss on her grave.”

I have believed for some time now that guys will be lining up to literally piss on her grave no matter where or how ‘secure’ it is. The Anger runs deep.

It would be good if there was a way to file some sort of treason charges against her today.
Keep it alive; bring all of the information forward again so people don't forget.

You too can join in her *petition*. I discovered the best part was, you can leave a comment, but the icing is that you can reply to the stupid-stupid comments other people leave. DU-lite. ;)

This is Hanoi Jane's second attempt to set her record straight.

The first occurred 15-20 years ago and concerned a new exercise tape she was pushing on one to the selling TV channels. That channel's leadership caught a massive amount of bad publicity and complaints - much like QVC has. They eventually pulled the tape.

Jane went on national TV and “apologized” for her actions during Vietnam. But, when you read her words they boiled down to he complaining about having to pull her exercise tape and the money it was going to cost her.

She has “apologized” twice now. But in both cases she was actually complaining that she saw no reason to be held accountable for her actions - ever. Almost 75 years old and she still fails the first test of adulthood - taking responsibility for all of your actions.
