CheezesH...
If you are going to DO one of these tests, do it long enough TO PROVE SOMETHING. Does it work or doesn't it?
I could make anything run for 35 minutes if you let me power it up for 90. duuhhhhhhhhhhh
Why oh why is my spidey sense tingling here? Do I sense a scam? Perhaps.
I didn’t read the article, but based on your comment:
Is my handheld battery drill a new power source?
I can charge it for 90 minutes and then it will run by itself for at least 35 minutes. Seems I should patent it and sell it to the masses.
This sort of report proves nothing. F A K E !
This thing has scam written all over it.
I agree this test proves nothing for good or ill...but you have to admit it smells bad. Every “test” of the device seems to stop short of unbiased critical scrutiny.
Mind you, I WANT this to be real. But if the October go-live date slips to November, then December...I expect we’ll never see it.
You need to stop reasoning with your nose. Do you consider Mats Lewan "biased"?? Personally, I'd say he is a lot LESS biased than Steve Krivit (and FAR better qualified technically to judge the technical issues involved).
Yer wastin' yer time. You can't reason with seagulls, they only have bird-brains, after all.
I see the size of the flock has increased.
No measurement of steam temperature or pressure, no measurement of water flow, just eye-balled for about 1/2 out versus in. No energy or power measurements. And it was only run for half an hour.
What a joke of a test.
Very interesting. The size of the device means there could be a hidden power source, so this report does nothing to allay valid skepticism. (Of course, it also gives no particular reason to believe it’s a scam, the naysayers notwithstanding).
But let’s run with the idea that this is real, since screaming ‘lies, lies, all lies’ is so intellectually barren. I wonder what’s involved in the additional mass of the device? From what I recall of the earlier analyses, that much extra mass is not required to provide hidden power for such a short test, which implies there is some functional reason for the new design. The article doesn’t comment on that. Anyone else have a guess?
The only thing I can think of would be hardware for the feedback mechanism to run in self-sustaining mode. This would involve not just electronic controls but also something to convert the heat to electricity, which would explain the additional mass.
OK, just looked at the pics at the site - apparently these new E-cats are rated at 27 kilowatts, much more than the earlier design. That would also explain the higher mass.
Hopefully they will provide additional test data on longer-duration tests, with better quantification of the power output and steam quality and so forth. Otherwise, we can just keep being patient for October. But this does seem a little hopeful.
"At the launch a complementary part will be included to attain a power-output rating of one megawatt, as the 52 units will be operated at reduced power levels to ensure stability even at intervals with self-sustained operation."
The way I read that, Rossi thinks its important to meet the 1 MW rating in the demo even if he has to hitch up some extra E-cats. But hitching anything up to the primary plant looks suspicious and raises the risk of sneaking in an external power source. I'd much rather he just demo the current plant. Let's say it just hits 700 kilowatts or something. So long as independent observers can validate the power output and the lack of hidden connections, I and everyone else will be happy. Who's going to quibble about a fraction of claimed power output when the basic technological claim is so explosive?
The 1 MW plant array looks pretty open to inspection based on the pics at Ny Technik. Of course, if its a scam then they would make it appear as such, except for the one very well disguised power line. Let them put that plant up on stilts or something so we observers can really go over every inch of the exterior in operation.
>>> Why oh why is my spidey sense tingling here? Do I sense a scam? Perhaps.
I’m betting yes, it is. On its face it too closely resembles a century of prior perpetual motion scams.
I’d love it to be real though. If legitimate it would almost overnight reorder the economy of the entire world.
I would like this to be true.... but as the man says.... believe half of what you see and none of what you here. Results are the only thing I believe in now days... show me a working functional unit that is capable of all the claims and I’ll climb on board.... until then call me suspicious.
When I do my canning in the kitchen with my pressure cooker, it takes about 25 minutes to come down from 15 pounds of pressure....and that’s steam pressure.
So, in comparison my pressure cooker actually runs on it’s own for 25 minutes AFTER the heat source is removed. WHAT A BREAKTHROUGH IN ENERGY PRODUCTION!
I love this machine!!! It’s like a dollar bill changer, if you get back what you put in you call the operation a success.
I’m going to buy two of them. One can power the other and I’ll have endless hot water. I just love it!!
I read about this in the 1940's in "The Hardy Boys and Their Cool Reactor." It seems that their chum Chet's widowed Mom couldn't pay the power company until her late husband's Medal of Honor stipend came through. So Frank took some spare reactor parts he found in a war surplus store and gave them a jolt with two D batteries from his Boy Scout Bike Lamp.
After that the dead hero's widow had enough power to give Chet a powerful desk lamp so that he could study physics and invent the Death Ray in "The Hardy Boys and Their Death Ray."
So you see, this is all quite simple. Power up your e-Cat, using a Leyden Jar and lightning conducted down a kite string to an iron key, and voila, power to spare forever.
