Van Halen, her husband, was into drugs bad at one time. Don’t know about now! I think Valerie got involved with them too, at one time.

She probably thinks since her ex owns the plane and her son is in his band, that SHE SHOULD BE ABLE TO FLY.` Looks like those people have a hard time getting their heads on straight! She has come a long way but that situation is not good, her thinking she should get to fly with them. If her son snubs her, there’s got to be a reason...maybe!!

Can you imagine sitting on the front row with your ex getting married????

From what I understand, she was into drugs.

I could not sit in the front row of my EX’s wedding (even though I don’t have an “EX”). I guess I am just intolerant.

And that airplane thing must be SUCH an embarrassment to Wolfgang.

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

From an email on June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown.

“It may not be for me to see
The meaning and the mystery
Of all that God has planned for me
Till “afterward”! —Anon.

In a world of mystery, it’s a comfort
to know the God who knows all things.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We hope and trust in thee
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ...
Thou art a covenant keeping God.
and in thy son Christ Jesus
who died for our salvation
for all that believe in Him
and call on his name ...
Alleluia! Amen.
I occasionally take a peek at this thread, when I need a diversion from all the crapola in the world. (BTW..I'm not even sure if I'm on the pinglist..if not, kindly add me.
Question: Last week I came across a quote from John Masefield, Poet Laureate of England. It really resonated with me. It's not poetry, (but he was a great poet, obviously.)
It comes from something he apparently wrote about wartime life at sea in the Royal Navy during Nelson's time.
I gather it's referred to as "Patriotism," and since that is something that we often speak of, and discuss on FR, I thought you'd enjoy it. ( assuming, of course, that you've not already covered it somewheres before on the thread...
"Patriotism, in its true form, is of the kind they gave, it is not a song in the street or a wreath on a column, or a flag flying from a window. It is a thing very holy and very terrible like life itself. It is a burden to be borne, a thing to labor for, and to suffer for and die for, a thing which gives no happiness, and no pleasantness, but a hard life, an unknown grave, and the respect, and bared heads, of those who followed.."
I couldn't find the source, or if it's an excerpt from a longer work. Maybe some here can look for it, explain the context. I found it powerful, and very moving. Thought you all might enjoy, as well as all others on the thread..should you choose to ping them. Best
