I have the great fortune of not understanding what you are attepting to communicate. Guns? Lacks that tend to be below? Below what?

You seem to lack, in addition any kind of common sense, a firm grasp of English.

“A Spanish bullfighter is likely to suffer facial paralysis and lose the sight in one eye after a terrifying goring, the hospital treating him said Saturday”

Somedays you gore the bull some days the bull gores you. Personally I always root for the bull.

>>The only saving grace for the “sport” would be if they carved him into steaks after the kill, and the meat was consumed. I don’t know if that happens or not.

Yes. Rabo de Toro is a big deal in Spain (tail of the bull). The only time this dish is served is when the bull in question is one which is slaughtered in a bullring. Otherwise it is called Rabo de Buey (ox-tail).

The entire bull is butchered immediately after it is killed. There is a butcher on premises at the bullring.

BTW Spaniards don’t consider this a sport, but rather an art. If that makes any difference.

Sure you are entitled to have opinions. What I don’t understand is why you share them here.

>>That Cowboys ... main job is to see that their charges STAY ALIVE!

Well except right at the end. After a life being moved from pen to pen like a prisoner, injected with growth hormones and given poor food for years and years, they are put in a stockade, stunned, shot in the head with a shotgun slug and finally tossed into a freezer car to be sent to your local supermarket.

I guess that is more humane than a life spent living in the open pasture and fighting for your own life for 10 minutes till the very end. And ending up in a similar supermarket.

Hmm, torture for 10 years or 10 minutes. Which is worse again?

Cowboys ride peeved bulls in rodeos and raise cattle for slaughter. That is not exactly dedicated to seeing their animals “stay alive”.

true Cowboys look after cattle on a range not factory farms and a Cowboy's job is done when they are sent to market

if he compared the abattoirs job then he has an argument but not with the Cowboy...

i eat meat so i accept that the process isn't perfect but i'll let others decide which is worse

also they cut the horses vocal cords so they don't make a sound when they get gored lest the people get squeamish

by the way, i went to the bullfights in T.J. many years ago

once was enough

I attended a Bullfight in Barcelona.
I can't say I enjoyed it, but I ended up rooting for the matador.

I don't claim to understand why some people enjoy watching humans fight bulls, but I saw that the audience around me did, and that there were a number of “rules” involved in the “game” that I was not aware of.

OTOH, I also don't understand the “sport” of Boxing. Watching two men beat each other up does not entertain me.
I did enjoy watching the scripted soap opera spectacles of the WWF, when I was a bit younger.

On balance, I have to say arena bullfights make more sence than arena boxing matches to me, but I wouldn't pay money to attend either event.

This thread sounds like a PETA convention.

Have seen far worse “torture” from hunters, unintentionally of course.

I don’t feel sorry for him. Not a fan of the concept of what bullfighting is. Killing quickly to minimize pain, for food, I can handle. Not this.

Whoa, I didn’t mean to imply that I thought bull fighting was a good thing, only that the matador(and the Picadors) were not without courage. Personally, I think the whole spectacle is bad, bad for the bull and bad for the people who embrace it.

Lets see, you say you are an undergraduate in college and you have been on Fr since Sept 6...

So You’re “brilliant “post is either because you are a troll or you’re just naive.

Yes, I'm a college undergrad, and I ahbor hippies. I get enough of their obnoxious liberal whining during the day and I don't want to run into them when I log onto Freerepublic.

Thank you, bears repeating. It seems on a political forum some forget politics to do their PETA recruitment.

That will be part of the education that you have missed for the last 40+ years...before you were born.

whether you are a troll, that remains to be seen.

Get a grip.

why would you accuse me of something I am not?try reading my post.

I am not a Peta person...so if I abhor unnecessary cruelty to animals...then I am a Peta person, a vegan and anti hunting and gun laws? Duh.

You may also take the suggestion to check out David Horowitz and Frontpage I noted in my post #77.
