Following the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's successful hounding last season of the Japanese whaling fleet, there was an air of optimism that the country would finally abandon its controversial "scientific research."
"[Sea Shepherd captain] Paul Watson has always said to us, 'I'm probably the only reality star that's trying to put himself out of the business in TV," Jason Carey, series executive producer for "Whale Wars" said, adding that if Japan ceases whaling, "then that's exactly what he would do. I don't think we'd have a series next year."
s MNN reported last week, that optimism went out the door after Japan's Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Michihiko Kano announced his country's intent to return to the Southern Ocean. "Japan will conduct the research whaling while strengthening measures against acts of sabotage, including dispatching Fisheries Agency escort ships," he said.
So it is confirmed we will have another season of Whale Wars meaning once again starting with the start of the season next month "Hippies Failing Badly" returns!!!

With the new "Escort Ships" maybe Watson can live up to his stupid insane statement "Are you willing to die for a whale." Well if that ship has some rockets on it the Steve Irwin may be at the bottom of the sea...
But when the hippies hit the water it will be the first bath they've had their entire lives.
This may be a good season. Escort ships and all.
You and me both. Cap't Kangaroo gets so bent out of shape about the lack of professionalism of his crew...well duh, they are volunteers for cripes sake. This next season is going to be much anticipated. Sea Shepard is going to have to modulate their tone in the face of the tragedy the Japanese endured and the Japanese are going to be allowed to use a much bigger stick by the court of public opinion. I cannot wait to see what happens.
