I wanted to share a FACEBOOK private Message I received tonight from an old friend (actually, my first boyfriend) who now lives in Massachussetts. Anyone who is my FACEBOOK friend knows my politics, hence..this..
Hi Hildy, I write to you privately so as not to air our differences in public.
Do you still think much of Herman Caine, [sic] who knows nothing of foreign affairs, and admits it. Is this who should make decisions that will effect the entire world? Do you really not believe that it is the 1% are the ones who the republicans cater to? Do you really believe that they care about "Joe six pack", or just lure him in to believe that he too can have some of that American pie "? I live in a million dollar home and have considerable savings, but still have the heart to care about those less fortunate.I truly believe that the republicans are about keeping the tax cuts for the extremely wealthy and let the poor working schmuck pay all the rest. I find this despicable, and don't mind paying my fair share of tax's, as long as the supper wealthy pay their share. What's your take on this?
The government screws up everything it touches...and you want to give them more? Really? Who do you think pays the majority of taxes in this Country? Who supplies the jobs? I want the government out of my life, not in it more. How can you say that paying more taxes will help anything? Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself to think this...but it's intellectually lazy and just plain out insulting to me and all the people I work with every day to try and make this Country and better place for EVERYBODY. How dare you imply that I and other Republicans like me don't care about the less fortunate. The government only keep the less fortunate down. How's that welfare worked out? Has any government program that was set up to "help" the less fortunate helped?" It's nice to say that from your million dollar home. Thanks for giving me that little insight. FYI: Go look at who that 1% gives their political donations to. Maybe then you'll really see what's going on here. By the way, the only friends we Jews have these days are in the Republican party. And your comments about Cain? A tad racist, don't ya think?

And apparently this guy does not know that “the wealthy” pay most of the taxes in the USA, and 47% or so pay none.

Ask him how he can love a government welfare program that spends $73,000 (a good full-time salary) to hand out $27,000 in benefits?
Thats the equivalent of one full-time government employee for each family on welfare
I had the exact same conversation with an old friend today, so don’t be pissed off - just be thankful that you can see through all the crap and have the intelligence to understand that conservatives are about compassion and liberalism is about keeping people under the thumb of big government.

$1 million doesn’t buy that much in Massachusetts. He thinks he’s somebody, when he’s really not. He certainly has soaked up the New England Kool-Aid.

Just reading this sentence makes me wonder how he made it into a million dollar home. His grammar sucks, his spelling is atrocious, and his reasoning is without logic. Must be a good scam artist.

Tell him to shut up and just write out a big check to the US Treasury. Anyone who lives in a million dollar house is “supper” wealthy to me. When he writes out the check, he shouldn’t make a big production number out of it. Just do it and let it go. That will give him a lot of warm fuzzies and he won’t have problems sleeping at night.
