The government screws up everything it touches...and you want to give them more? Really? Who do you think pays the majority of taxes in this Country? Who supplies the jobs? I want the government out of my life, not in it more. How can you say that paying more taxes will help anything? Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself to think this...but it's intellectually lazy and just plain out insulting to me and all the people I work with every day to try and make this Country and better place for EVERYBODY. How dare you imply that I and other Republicans like me don't care about the less fortunate. The government only keep the less fortunate down. How's that welfare worked out? Has any government program that was set up to "help" the less fortunate helped?" It's nice to say that from your million dollar home. Thanks for giving me that little insight. FYI: Go look at who that 1% gives their political donations to. Maybe then you'll really see what's going on here. By the way, the only friends we Jews have these days are in the Republican party. And your comments about Cain? A tad racist, don't ya think?
The above was my reply. I am so pissed off...Ann Coulter is right, liberalism is a mental illness.
Is that a new way to say "eat the rich"?
If I shouldn’t vote for Herman because he can’t answer a gotcha vague question like “so what about Libya”, why should I vote for someone who thinks Hawaii is Asia, there are 57 states, and Austrian is a language?
Sheesh.
And apparently this guy does not know that “the wealthy” pay most of the taxes in the USA, and 47% or so pay none.
you go girl~!
Ask him how he can love a government welfare program that spends $73,000 (a good full-time salary) to hand out $27,000 in benefits?
Thats the equivalent of one full-time government employee for each family on welfare
$1 million doesn’t buy that much in Massachusetts. He thinks he’s somebody, when he’s really not. He certainly has soaked up the New England Kool-Aid.
Boy am I glad you dumped the bum.
Tell him to shut up and just write out a big check to the US Treasury. Anyone who lives in a million dollar house is “supper” wealthy to me. When he writes out the check, he shouldn’t make a big production number out of it. Just do it and let it go. That will give him a lot of warm fuzzies and he won’t have problems sleeping at night.
Excellently done.
“By the way, the only friends we Jews have these days are in the Republican party. And your comments about Cain? A tad racist, don’t ya think?”
I suggest you take up your complaint with Mr. Panetta.
You dated Wesley Mouch?
Please pass on to your IDIOT friend.
( I live in a million dollar home and have considerable savings, but still have the heart to care about those less fortunate)
Well I live in a $100,000 house, not paid for, have almost zilch in savings but still donate to the food bank at my church, drive miles to attend funerals and stand flag lines for fallen soldiers, shovel snow for nearest 3 nighbors who are more elderly then I am and have medical issues. And volunteer time for various activities for children at my church. If it wasn’t for the liberal/socialist/democrat policies over the past 35 plus years that have destroyed this nations savings, job outlook and ability to prosper maybe we would not need to donate to the food banks as much!
I think its been shown that Obama doesn’t know much of anything about foreign policy either.
Most of the top 1% are probably Democrats. Heck, Warren Buffer, Bill Gates, Peter Lewis and George Soros are all leftists.
You raise the taxes on the rich. And the rich decide they need to charge more money for their products or services.
Any small business that gets its taxes raise will automatically increase what they charge.
Like a lot of liberals, especially those in my family, I found your friend’s tone to be extremely condescending-one meant to say, “I’m better than you” but stated in a nice way. I’ve met people like him before, they love to look down on the masses from their elitist towers. I have little if any respect for your friend.
Sorry for the anger in my post. I do in fact have a very hard time with people like your friend regardless of either party they belong to. And yeah, I’ve found them on both sides of the political divide.
You know I’m almost sorry because I doubt he’ll read your post with an open mind. Sounds like he is safely housed where he wants to be.
I really do like your response. It isn’t easy trying to explain to someone on the left how off base their facts are. I may borrow some of your points of clarification!
Sorry I don’t know html but send him this link: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/276395/moral-high-ground-jim-lacey
It’s one of those slap ‘em down and keep ‘em there types of articles. Should put him in his place if he has half a brain (besides the left half that is).
Thanks for sharing.
Nice response.
If it were me, I wouldn't take it personally. I would have said something like: "Great to hear from you, not sure I totally understood the logic in your comments, but then again, you never were one for pillow talk."
And leave it at that. Not attempt to persuade to the conservative point of view, no gnashing of the teeth, nothing. He doesn't deserve a reaction.
Your rant was great. Made perfect sense to me.
