Buckeye Police "Body-Planted" Grandpa at WalMart in Black Friday Mayhem
Phoenix News Times ^ | November 25, 2011 | Ray Stern

The Buckeye incident is catching national attention this morning.

According to news reports, a crowd of fired-up shoppers at the Walmart were clawing at a box of videos games when a little boy was "trampled" and cut his lip. The boy's grandfather then tried to lift the kid, first sticking a video game he was holding in his waistband. The guy reportedly had $600 worth of other merchandise with him he intended to buy -- not exactly the shoplifter type.

One witness of the incident quoted by Channel 10 news (KSAZ-TV) seems to indicate that police wildly over-reacted:

"You would have thought there was a cure for cancer in this box," said shopper Skyler Stone. "I mean people were literally going insane.

"They grabbed the guy, body planted him into the ground -- face shatters on concrete. That's a hard concrete floor inside Walmart.

"All of a sudden, you see this little boy run up and wailing and yelling, 'Grandpa, Grandpa,' and crying his eyes out," Stone said.

When will people learn to avoid these types of scenes? It’s getting to be regular Christmas time fare.

Grandpa going to own part of WalMart when this is over. Shame some Buckeye police “officers” won’t lose their jobs over this

Was it REALLY the police?, or was it a couple of unempoyable holiday-season-jackasses who took the oath to protect the store (an inanimate object) at ALL costs, no matter what happens to the “accused” buyer?

I wanted to pick up some coax cable from radioshack today, but I refuse to go there because it is beside the walmart and I know it’s going to be a zoo today.

The coax can wait.

“That’s a hard concrete floor INSIDE of Walmart”.

If this man had not walked OUT of Walmart, why was it assumed he was shoplifting? He had not left the store interior. Hope this man gets better. The video looks very disturbing since he is unresponsive.

News reports here state that it was a Buckeye Police Officer. No mention of a Walmart security guard or loss prevention associate.
Methinks, just a little over reaction and now the city of Buckeye is looking at a fair size law suit (settlement) and the police officer will soon be a former police officer.

Not sure what kinda coax you need but home depot has it and its usually a heck of a lot cheaper and you don’t have to deal with those freaks at radio shack FYI i still use the Shack for some stuff

I bet the line of lawyers at Grandpa’s door today is as long as the line outside Walmart last night.

Why not? With police there to protect the public, it should be safe.

Methinks that firing the cop is not enough ... there is NO excuse for this kind of behavior by these “thugs with badges”. IMO this sorry excuse should be tried for felonious assault under color of authority. And if found guilty do so REAL prison time. Enough is enough of this thug mentality in our LE.
