.I was fortunate enough to see him and Queen in concert back in the 70s and 80s approximately a dozen times.
Lucky buck, that's what you were!!! I would LOVE to have seen them! I love Chris May's guitar talent (he built his first guitar himself)and Freddie's passion and strong voice.

Yes, Saw them live in Pontiac. what year I don’t recall. back then we didn’t care about his sexuality..But, we grew up and referred back to what we learned from right and wrong.

When a singer makes it to the show, they never get those types of things corrected becasue it will change the sound of their voice....

Thanks for posting that. And lucky for all of us we don't stand before FReepers at Judgment.
And then I saw Him in the crowd
A lot of people had gathered round Him, the beggars shouted the lepers called him
The old man said nothing, he just stared about him
All going down to see the Lord Jesus, all going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
Then came a man before His feet he fell, unclean said the leper and rang his bell
Felt the palm of a hand touch his head, go now go now you're a new man instead
All going down to see the Lord Jesus, all going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
It all began with the three wise men, followed a star took
them to Bethlehem
And made it heard throughout the land, born was a leader of manv All going down to see the Lord Jesus, all going down to see the Lord Jesus

I saw Queen once in concert, in Boston. They actually opened for ELO. I had no idea Mercury was homosexual. None. I just remember thinking, ‘There’s something very...odd, about the way he’s dressed and the vibe he gives off’. But I didn’t suspect the truth at that time. They were very good live, as was ELO.

The best art is undertaken with the understanding one is not ones own.

None. I just remember thinking, Theres something very...odd, about the way hes dressed and the vibe he gives off. You probably thought, "He's not gay, he's just British."

Heard it (without the visuals.) Probably the first thing by this band I ever knowingly heard. He’s good, I say, and deserved a better band behind him.

Hmm...I didn’t even realize he’d been gone that long.
Loved his early work with Queen, but soured on him after learning of his...*cough*...persuasion.

He really went down hill physically in his last days, but his voice was strong. Here are pics from his last three original videos:
"I'm Going Slightly Mad"
"Headlong"
"These Are the Days of our Lives"
Last public appearance, accepting a lifetime achievement award "BPI" award with the rest of the band.
