Who is Ginger White?
http://www.nydailynews.com ^ | BY Bill Hutchinson & Joseph Straw

Posted on 11/29/2011 4:59:06 AM PST by Lucky9teen

The Atlanta woman who says she was Herman Cain’s mistress for 13 years is a down-on-her-luck single mom who once sued a former employer for sexual harassment.

Ginger White surfaced in bombshell fashion on Monday, telling an Atlanta TV station that she’s “not proud” of what she described as long-running sexual shenanigans with the married GOP White House contender.

“I didn’t want to come out this way,” she said in an interview with Atlanta’s FOX affiliate WAGA-TV that put Cain on the defensive even before it was aired.

White described herself in the interview as a jobless former businesswoman. She is middle-aged, has two children and was evicted from her Atlanta home earlier this month, according to a background check done by the TV station.

WAGA reporters also found records showing she has been hit with several eviction notices in DeKalb County, Ga., over the past six years.

She filed for bankruptcy 23 years ago, the station reported. In 2001, she also filed a sexual harassment suit, which was later settled, according to the station.

Her former business partner, Kimberly Vay, once sued her and accused her of stalking, the station reported.

Vay, who did not respond to calls for comment Monday, also sought an order of protection against White, charging that she was bombarded with emails and texts “threatening [a\] lawsuit” and defaming her character.

A judge ruled in favor of Vay in a libel suit she had filed against White, the station reported.

White admits she has struggled as a single mother, but added that her financial woes shouldn’t define her.

“I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person,” she told the station. “It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.”

White said she ignored the fact Cain was married during their alleged affair, which she said included trysts in hotel rooms across the country. She says they met at a business conference during the 1990s.

“It was pretty simple,” White told WAGA. “It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship.”

Cain, 65, who has been married for 43 years, went on CNN to deny the affair before White’s complete WAGA-TV interview was broadcast live.

His lawyer, Lin Wood, told the TV station that because White hasn't alleged harassment or assault, the matter doesn't belong in the news.

“The public's right to know and the media's right to report has boundaries and most certainly those boundaries end outside of one's bedroom door,” Wood wrote.

White said she came forward because she is upset over how Cain handled previous allegations that he sexually harassed four women, two of whom reportedly received cash settlements from the National Restaurant Association, where he was CEO during the 1990s.

“It bothered me that they were being demonized, sort of; they were treated as if they were automatically lying, and the burden of proof was on them,” White said. “I felt bad for them.”

Cain, the former head of the Godfather’s Pizza chain, was running near the top of the polls before the claims of sexual harassment broke.

Last week, Cain dropped to third place in a national GOP poll run by Quinnipiac University. He came in with 14% of the vote, behind ascendant former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

He said Monday he would stay in the race as long as he had his wife’s support. But White put even more pressure on him, offering what she said was proof of the alleged hush-hush romance.

She gave the TV station loads of cell phone records, and Cain’s personal cell phone, which he answered when someone from the station called it.

She also gave the station’s reporter two books Cain signed for her. In one of them, his 2001 autobiography “CEO of SELF,” Cain added a little note: “Friends are forever! Everything else is a bonus.”

Thanks. I just read it and a bunch of the responses. I’m really looking forward to how this one plays out, as I was with the others.

edit: I’d be really interested in knowing the content of the text message that prompted his response.

I don’t think you can say that we Cain supporters are in denial. I am sorely disappointed. Yes, about the affair if true, but two other things really bother me. If I decide to say, I don’t know his marriage, the troubles he’s had, if he lived virtually alone but didn’t want to divorce, and this was his only companionship, there are still things to affect me.

Why would this woman turn on him? I guess that answer would be money. But if he were a wonderful guy, why wouldn’t she just stay quiet and allow him to run for President?

And why, if you had a complicated marital situation, would you run for president as a conservative?

I do see serious character flaws here. How can he say he’s done nothing wrong? He knows that the general conservative public finds adultery wrong.

If you have an affair with somebody for 13 years, you should be able to come up with some evidence more solid than two signed books and some cellphone records.

Yeah, no kidding. Let's see the notes, letters, texts, emails, witnesses/receipts from the hotel trysts, etc.

Cain said when the details came out, we would see this was nothing, and until there is proof otherwise, I believe him. I believe in innocent until proven guilty.

I cannot believe how some here on FR cannot see what is happening to Cain. They have done the same to EVERY conservative they deemed a threat. They must be laughing their backside off at how easy conservative are to manipulate, all you have to do is hint of a scandal, you don't even need proof.

Yessirree....the Chicago gambits didn’t work when they tied Axelrod to the plan, so Obie’s war room figured they needed an Atlanta offensive.

In politics we have to be more careful than that. In politics, often where there is smoke, there is a smoke bomb.

Yep. And smoke and mirrors sometimes too.

According to the article, she provided phone records to the news station that showed many calls from Cains private cell# with some occurring at 4 am and 6am.

I want to see actual text/email messages, not just a phone log. He doesn't deny knowing her, so that they would talk on the phone doesn't surprise me. If she has unimpeachable evidence, why didn't she show it to the reporter?

As for the 4 am calls - was that from her to him or vice versa? Also, of the 61 calls/texts, how many did she initiate vs him calling/texting her? The article I read wasn't clear on these points. These may seem like minor details, but they are important in determining the level of involvement.

As an aside: 61 calls/texts over a 4 month period doesn't seem to be that excessive.

“I cannot believe how some here on FR cannot see what is happening to Cain. They have done the same to EVERY conservative they deemed a threat”

they know exactly what is being done to Cain and are loving every minute of it because they believe it is helping their candidate whomever that may be

“I don’t think you can say that we Cain supporters are in denial.”

This one is certainly not in denial. If Herman Cain is the man these women are portraying him as, then he is the last man we want to put in office. Character does matter. But my Cain bumper sticker came off the car after that train wreck of an interview on Libya. Intelligence and judgment of the man with his finger on the button matters too. I’m afraid we are down to Newt and Mitt. Yikes!

as a DNC operative you can easily find his private cell number. You hire this woman to make a false accusation and give her the number to put into her cell phone.

presto.

she calls cain in front of the reporter and the illusion is complete.

She must have a really old cell phone.

everything about her screams hired gun.

The thing that bothers me is you could replace Herman Cain with the name Bill Clinton on every one of these articles and post date it to 1992 and it would read like a current event.

Candidate: Deny, deny, deny..

Campaign: Nuts and sluts.

That said, I do think a black conservative viewed as a threat to both parties and their carefully constructed power structures and socially engineered voter demographics.

she has been hit with several eviction notices in DeKalb County, Ga., over the past six years.

If she were the mistress of a wealthy man like Mr. Cain, wouldn't she have enough money to pay the rent?

I agree with this statement completely, our political system has become
PURE EVIL!!!!! This man has a wonderful family they do not deserve this
type of political terror. If this however IS true shame on him for putting his
beautiful family through this he had to know it would come out!!!!!!

If he was helping her out he sure did a lousy job of it!

Perhaps she needs more help that he is capable of giving. Some people are so irresponsible with money that, short of paying all their bills, no level of support will suffice. Seems to me if she was his mistress he would have made sure she wasn't evicted from her apartments.

Oh I don’t know- how many people run for office and then it is later discovered they had skeletons in their closet or they do something stupid like the Gov Sanford who left the country but said he was hiking for a few days. A few days of being MIA and the media found out he was having an affair with some gal in Brazil I believe....Now how stupid was Sanford to try and pass that off?

Look at Weiner- and all his lady problems...he knew he had issues for years but still ran for office.
