All in all, great compilation of great moments in sports. Con to me is NO Drew Brees winning Super Bowl. Also too much Ali. Fraiser was the better of the two except when he fought Foreman. JMO

Given that they’d have been predicting the future at that point it’s understandable that they left out the Saints winning the Super Bowl.

Thanks for posting that. I’d forgotten how well done that was and how many memories it stirred for me.

Nice except the background music

Single Women by Aerosmith? What do aging single women dreaming about being young & beautiful again have to do with sports?

It was up to 1999, but I always have to plug for the Saints.

Too quick of a clip of Barry Sanders too. Good class act he was on the field.

I taped this when it first ran on ESPN. Hard to believe over a decade has passed since then...except for the fact that it is nearly impossible to find a VCR to watch a videotape anymore. Well put together and still gives me chills to see all those thrills of victory and agonies of defeat.

I was just thinking as I was getting close to the end of viewing it that they couldn't possibly put together a collection like this without Bobby Orr's horizontal overtime goal... and there it was about the 3rd from the end.

Perhaps the most memorable moment that was not included unless I missed it....the 1972 Montreal Olympics when Shun Fujimoto of Japan severely broke his knee during a floor exercise. Then he went on to score 9.5 on the pommel and in the final event scored 9.7 on the rings with the finale being a triple somersault dismount from 8 feet up…. He was able to stand just long enough after landing for the judges to count it before he collapsed. With that performance the Japanese wont the gold over the Russians by 4/10 of a point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq-C5-vIim8

I was going to gripe if they didn’t include “the pass” by Doug Flutie at Boston college, but they did.

Great video. But it’s missing a few iconic images:

1. Nolan Ryan beating the crap out of Robin Ventura.

2. Joe Theisman breaking his leg.

3. The “Agony of Defeat” skier from ABC Wide World of Sports.

I noticed the video included The Play—when the Cal Commies had to run through the Stanford band to score the winning touchdown and win the 1982 Big Game.
