The UCLA Bruins will play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco on December 31st against the University of Illinois.
Both schools are coming off seasons in which they fired their head coach. The Illini dropped their last six games of the season after getting off to a 6-0 start, which cost Ron Zook his job.
The Bruins basketball team will also be in the bay area playing at California on December 31st.

The whole bowl system is a joke. Alabama vs. LSU; again? Give LSU the title now since they already beat Alabama in the “Game of the Century.”

You are probably correct, and I suspect that Bowl sponsors want to make sure that one or both teams are in a major television market as well.

And OSU’s new head coach has a lot to do with the sorry state the Gators are in right now....all I’m saying is “Beware”, you’re not getting the guy you think you’re getting.

"This game and drama would get more ratings than the Sugar Bowl!" Bet it would considering the Sugar Bowl will have VT and Mich., boring everyone to death.
A must miss!

Now wait. Even though Florida had a down year, it's Ohio State...
In a bowl game...
Against an SEC team.

Did you watch our game against FSU? Even the 0-10-1 1979 team didn’t look that pathetic.

Sad but true. I believe the Bucks are 1 and 8 in bowl games against the SEC.

"Soembody please explain to me how a team (UCLA) that gives up 50 points one week and then 49 points the next, in back to back losing efforsts, can be considered for even a minor Bowl Game? "If by some fluke they had beaten Oregon this past weekend, UCLA would have been in the Rose Bowl (with a 7-6 record).

Yep, I have this image of a Florida fan and Tennessee fan sitting at the bar wondering to each other, “Where did it all go so wrong?”

I think the same holds true for FL. I'm not saying they'd have vied for the title, just that they'd have been a much more competitive team. Well, that and Muschamp would not have been my choice.

To say nothing of all the Illini out west!
Used to be one of them. And I still sometimes attend an annual reunion of my high school, in Freeptown.
The high school is in suburban Chicago, btw.
