Charles Barkley makes plea to Bears: Stop Tim Tebow madness

As the Bears try to stop Tim Tebow from his sixth straight victory on Sunday amid a fever pitch of attention on the polarizing Denver Broncos quarterback, Charles Barkley made a plea to Chicago: Stop the madness.

"I want to make a personal plea to Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher, Mr. [Julius] Peppers, please stop the madness," Barkley said Friday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I'm just so tired ... I like Tim Tebow. He seems like a good kid, and I wish him success, but I am Tebowed out. So this is my personal plea for you three guys, please stop this madness."

"It's clearly a media-driven story," Barkley said. "They just want you to argue about Tim Tebow. Dude, let the kid play. If he can play, good. If he can't play it will show. But to have this argument every single day after five or six games is just ridiculous.

"Tim Tebow is a good player. I wish him luck, but if I don't ever hear the words Brett Favre or Tim Tebow again it won't be enough."

Yeah he would. See that’s where the third paragraph you keep studiously ignoring comes in:

It’s clearly a media-driven story,” Barkley said. “They just want you to argue about Tim Tebow. Dude, let the kid play. If he can play, good. If he can’t play it will show. But to have this argument every single day after five or six games is just ridiculous. “

See he’s complaining about THE MEDIA, not the player. No racism, no anti-Christianity, complaining about an obsessed media. Only an obsessive that foolishly assumed would think it has anything to do with race or religion. Anybody that actually bothered to read it... but of course that’s how it always is with the Tebow stories, lots of people making stupid assumptions that have no basis in fact. 99% of the articles are complaining about some imaginary hatred, the other 1% are praising him. Nobody hates him.

Yes because everybody knows he was really sicking Julius Peppers on the media, not on Tebow.

The media will shut up if he loses. And Peppers, Briggs and Urlacher are the star members of the next defense Tebow goes against. None of the 3 of which have any rep as dirty players. If there’s a silly rabbit here is the guy that ass-u-mes racism.
