Governor Mitt Romney has signed into law a permanent assault weapons ban that he says will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns.

Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.

he was also pro-abortion when he ran against Ted Kennedy in 2002. He was also a draft dodger during Vietnam. His often mentioned anti-illegal immigration legislation was a complete fabrication enacted a month before he left office and repealed a month after he left. And he's going to be the face of the Republican party.

are you suggesting that he didn’t, in fact, sign into law a permaanent ban on assault weapons in Massachusets?

Dunno why you’re posting this stuff. If you believe what Newsmax is saying he’s imploding in Iowa and fading in New Hampshire and Newsmax believes it’s because Romney has gone negative in Iowa. Negative ad campaigns don’t play well in a small state like Iowa. Never has.

“Never before has there been such bi-partisan cooperation in the passage of gun safety legislation of this magnitude in this nation, said John Rosenthal, co-founder and chair of Stop Handgun Violence”.

This just a few miles from Lexington and Concord. Put an 18th century British uniform on everyone in that picture and it works out just right.

"...make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns."

Oh you mean like the criminal in New York city who killed a cop yesterday, a criminal who was out walking the streets because a liberal Judge freed him with no bail last month despite being found with 10 bags of crack (hey it's only crack) and despite an armed robbery conviction in 2009 and a shooting charge in North Carolina that he skipped out on bail on. How many times have we heard that before? I can't even count. Maybe guns aren't the problem Mr. Romney. Maybe the problem is the liberal mentality that constantly allows animals like this to run amok while disarming LAW ABIDING citizens. Some POS breaks into my house and tries to kill my family, maybe I would prefer to Uzi his ass.

We need to keep up the fire on Mittens. He has the resources to wage a protracted campaign. The longer this primary process drags on, the more it works to his advantage. We need to get rid of this bad penny once and for all.

There was another governor awhile back that banned the open carry of firearms in his state. And after he left public office he supported the Brady Bill.

And while he was upset at the Black Panthers brandishing weapons on their marches - it did set a terrible precedent in California. And the Brady Bill thing, well - it was after he had left the Presidency, so perhaps that is one thing that I might claim where Ronald Reagan's Alzheimer's affected his decision making. And by the way Mitt, the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

Now I am permanently signed off of Romney—If he’s GOP’s guy—I’m writing in Donald Trump.

Is Newt any better? Again we have the same tired old flip-flopping story.

Newt supported the anti-gun Brady bill that created a national gun registry,"

Newt also supported the Lautenberg law that takes away gun rights for crimes as simple as spanking your child (passed as an amendment to the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997).

Now might be a good time to mention that Ron Paul is rated A+ by Gunowners of America. His record is more conservative than either establishment candidates.

It will make it more difficult for criminals to get assault weapons, but it will make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE for law abiding citizens to get them!

I think we are all pretty much over IOWA.

IOWA and NH are the spoiled brat babies of the primaries.
