A Vandalized Valley (VDH nails it)
National Review ^ | 12/21/2012 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 12/21/2011 5:47:33 AM PST by GlockThe Vote

While the elites make excuses, citizens cope with theft and destruction.

I am starting to feel as if I am living in a Vandal state, perhaps on the frontier near Carthage around a.d. 530, or in a beleaguered Rome in 455. Here are some updates from the rural area surrounding my farm, taken from about a 30-mile radius. In this take, I am not so much interested in chronicling the flotsam and jetsam as in fathoming whether there is some ideology that drives it.

Last week an ancestral rural school near the Kings River had its large bronze bell stolen. I think it dated from 1911. I have driven by it about 100 times in the 42 years since I got my first license. The bell had endured all those years. Where it is now I don’t know. Does someone just cut up a beautifully crafted bell in some chop yard in rural Fresno County, without a worry about who forged it or why — or why others for a century until now enjoyed its presence?

Sickening and sad. I cannot imagine having any patience not to just shoot the next person coming into the area or on a piece of property..

Situation is completely out of control...and I fear coming to our own neighborhoods in due course.

What struck me was that an environmental violation was enforced while the other violations were dismisse. But the dishwasher in the pond was overlooked.

Perhaps unfortunate reaction to part of this article. Don't challenge the strange cars that pull into the driveway; wait for them to break in and then shoot them dead. I know, the state would spend millions prosecuting the homeowner while bemoaning the fate of the good citizens who were just doing a little undocumented shopping.

The low life’s must be exterminated. Jail is degenerated to trade school for criminals.

Public hanging after trial within 7 days should be implemented. lawyer welfare of endless appeals must be ceased.

Another brilliant essay by VDH, marking the collapse of our civilization, largely brought about by the illegal alien invasion our traitor elites have promoted.

The influx of over 11 million illegal aliens has had a sort of ripple effect that is rarely calibrated. Sixty percent of Hispanic males in California are not graduating from high school. Unemployment in rural California runs about 20 percent. There is less fear now of arrest and incarceration, given the bankruptcy of the state, which, of course, is rarely officially connected even in small part to illegal immigration. Perhaps because illegal immigration poses so many mind-boggling challenges (e.g., probably over $20 billion lost to the state in remittances, the undermining of federal law, the prejudice shown against legal immigration applicants, ethnic favoritism as the engine of amnesty, subterfuge on the part of Mexico, vast costs in entitlements and subsidies), talking about it is futile. So most don’t, in fear of accusations of “racism.”

The rational conclusion of intentionally importing a perpetual third world underclass. The host country assumes the trappings and environment of the country of origin.

You can thank the “elite” for it all. The day is coming when they won’t be able to move far enough away from it. You can’t crap in your own bed forever and not face the consequences of it.

VDH’s neighbors are obviously not much concerned about crime as they just re-elected Governor Moonbeam.

We were compelled to extra fencing, and additional gates, and locks recently.

The entire area is a trash dump around here as well. In the middle of the night our road is blocked as they don’t even bother to back up, and dump off road most often anymore.

Myself retired, but Mrs. RQSR still working, and leaves at four in the morning for her work. She calls on the cell phone, and I grab the shovel, rake, jump in the old pick up truck, and head out to clear the road of mounds of trash, and stripped appliances, weeds, etc. so she can get to work.

Yup, it’s all illegals. They are like Rabbits in the fields around here. Everywhere by the thousands, and they look at us with nothing but disdain as though we are the cause of their miserable lives.

Many of our friends, and neighbors are of Mexican heritage, but are Americans. They too know the anger, and want something done about it as any citizen around here does.

Thanks for the ping I will read the while thing...here is an earlier version of it. VDH ...his experiences show you why Mexico itself is an ungovernable lawless shithole with a lot of nihilistic idiots worshiping death same as the Aztrecs and Mayans did

The metaphysics of contemporary theft
Same Old, Same Old…

Last week was another somewhat depressing chapter in a now long saga of living where I was born. I returned to the farm from leading a European military history tour, and experienced the following — mind you, after a number of thefts the month prior (barn, shop, etc.):

1) I left my chainsaw in the driveway to use the restroom inside the house. Someone driving buy saw it. He slammed on the brakes, stole it, and drove off. Neat, quick, easy. Mind you there was only a 5-minute hiatus in between my cutting. And the driver was a random passer-by. That suggests to me that a high number of rural Fresno County motorists can prove to be opportunistic thieves at any given moment. The saw was new; I liked it — an off-the-shelf $400 Echo that ran well. I assume it will be sold off at a rural intersection in these parts, or the nearby swap meet for about $60. I doubt the thief was a professional woodsman who needed a tool of the trade to survive.

2) On the next night, three 15-hp agriculture pumps on our farm were vandalized — all the copper wire was torn out of the electrical conduits. The repairs to each one might run $500; yet, the value of the wire could not be over $50. I was told by neighbors that reports and descriptions of the law-breakers focused on youthful thieves casing the countryside — in official parlance a “gang,” and in the neighborhood politically-incorrect patois “cholos” — like the fellow who recently drove in, in his new lowered shiny red pickup (hydraulic lifters are not cheap), inquiring about buying “scrap” and “just looking” before I ran him out.

3) A neighbor has a house for sale. It is unoccupied and rather isolated. I saw someone approach it on Friday, and drove over to ensure he was lawful. It was the owner’s assistant, who lamented that someone had just stolen all the new appliances out of the house — carting off the refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. But why? Do these miscreants wish a civilization of the sort that all houses must seem occupied all the time, or are otherwise considered “communal property” for the taking? Don’t the appliance thieves have homes, and if so, do they have locks on the doors to protect their investments from the likes of themselves?

These days I sympathize with gloomy St. Augustine, writing after the sack of Rome in 410, and then again contemplating things lost when back home, near death, and besieged by the vandals at Hippo Regius. He died I think convinced that a millennium of culture was about to end. And despite a Belisarius to come, it did.

(EXCERPT)

Don't any of the farmers own guns?

You'd think there would be a bunch of dead Mexicans by now given what VDH has reported here.

On a lighter note, sombody vandalized the AT&T equipment serving the San Joaquin Valley Air Bord in Fresno. This has caused much havoc and the board complains it cannot enforce the no-fireplace burn day rules and can’t write tickets until the problems are resolved.

I blame the Indio and semi-Indio culture and people of Mexico. They are not European in culture even though some have some European blood. They just have have different things going on in their brains. They don’t plan for the future or have anxiety about the future. Called lack of abstract thinking. These are the people who are invading America. The left loves this invasion they are getting new voters from the anchor babies. The traitorous corporations (large and small) love their cheap labor

“I stay here, however, because I now ask: Why should we change our way of life rather than demanding that those who are changing it should look inward and themselves change?”

“...look inward and themselves change?”. C’mon Vic. You’re killin’ me here.

The fact is, “they” won’t change until they are forced to change. “Demanding” isn’t getting any of us anywhere anymore. No one’s listening.

I’m afraid, Glock The Vote, that your name is the becoming the only solution.

It is a good way to get shot, mucking around trying to steal on farms where you don’t belong.
