Anyone else spending Christmas Eve alone? (vanity)

Merry Christmas everyone! My sincere hope is that all of you, each and every one, will have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Just wondering if any others out there are spending this sacred night solo.

Besides my trusty Boxer, Django the Wonderdog, and a new edition to the household, a gorgeous long-haired black cat I have dubbed Jackson, I have the house to myself all evening and night.

Tomorrow, it will be family wall-to-wall at mom's house, complete with gifts and an excellent multi-calorie dinner. But, tonight, I'll enjoy a quiet supper and a nice cappuccino, watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and maybe "A Christmas Story." Probably turn in early.

Anyone else in Freeperland alone tonight? Just curious.

But....if he was willing to do that NOW, what will he be willing to do next year, or the year after, and so on?

I used to work with someone who broke up with his girlfriend on her 40th birthday. A lot of the guys I worked with laughed about that. I don’t work with those folks anymore.

I’m here alone, except for 2 weenie dogs :). I made a pot of chicken and dumplings today and am enjoying some Christmas programs on TV and just chilling out.

One of the better things about egg nog in a carton is being able to make egg nog French toast—just bread and nog, all fried up. That stuff’s a winner.

I’m sitting in the hospital with a bad infection and COPD. I sent the wife to her moms. I will miss all the nieces and nephews opening gifts tomorrow. But FReepers are never really alone.

Thanks for posting this. Tonight is my first Christmas Eve “alone” ever. We always did the Italian tradition of many kinds of fish for dinner. Long ago, we had about seven different kinds and about seventy relatives. We had gotten down to three different fish by last Christmas.

I did my part tonight by having three kinds of fish at a sushi restaurant.

It is so nice to share your Christmases with all of you. A holy Christmas Eve and a merry Christmas to all.

Sounds yummy, but I'm assuming you need a smoker to do the hams. Unfortunately I live in an apartment building and don't even have a grill.

I really do not feel that bad but everyone I have talked to has told me to go to the dr. I do sound kinda pitiful! First time I have had this junk in 20 years or so. I made it to a nearby drug store the other day and stocked up on drinks. The colder the better. May go back tomorrow and get more orange juice. I have other problems caused by thyroid problems so I already felt ill. Merry Christmas.

God Bless You! I took a walk through the backwoods today to the Stones River. The water is down as the TVA has dropped the system to winter levels. I reflected on many thoughts and have discovered once again that my Lord Jesus Christ is why we do anything.
