Merry Christmas everyone! My sincere hope is that all of you, each and every one, will have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Just wondering if any others out there are spending this sacred night solo.
Besides my trusty Boxer, Django the Wonderdog, and a new edition to the household, a gorgeous long-haired black cat I have dubbed Jackson, I have the house to myself all evening and night.
Tomorrow, it will be family wall-to-wall at mom's house, complete with gifts and an excellent multi-calorie dinner. But, tonight, I'll enjoy a quiet supper and a nice cappuccino, watching "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and maybe "A Christmas Story." Probably turn in early.
Anyone else in Freeperland alone tonight? Just curious.

I went to Youtube looking for “I Remember Mama”, one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies. No luck, but I stumbled upon “The Reckoning”, which was more than okay.

Belle, I was very pleased to read your story! Back in the summer of ‘64 my ship, the destroyer USS Bigelow, was visiting Stockholm, and some of the local gals castigated me because of our efforts fighting the communists in VietNam. Since then I have had a had a negative impression of the so-called Swedish “neutralists” and am glad that there are now other attitudes prevalent there now! Thank you...

Oh, there’s nothing like grilled lamb kabobs ... especially with tzatziki sauce! My mouth is watering, I’ll have to make some during the week.
As far as I am concerned the only version worth watching is the 1951 with Alastair Sim as scrooge and also, if you can find it, the one with Mr. Magoo is passable. I don't like any of the others but will watch them if that is all that is available. Daughter and grandkids are here, but without a woman by my side, I feel alone, altho FR helps a lot.
