Apple releases Mac OS X 10.7.3 and Safari 5.1.3

Apple today released Mac OS X 10.7.3 which is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac including fixes that:
The OS X Lion v10.7.3 Update includes Safari 5.1.3 and fixes that:

• Add Catalan, Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian language support
• Address issues when using smart cards to log into OS X
• Address compatibility issues with Microsoft Windows file sharing
• Address an issue printing Microsoft Word documents that use markup
• Address a graphics performance issue after sleep on some earlier iMacs that use ATI graphics
• Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep
• Address an issue that may prevent Safari from opening before joining a wireless network
• Fix a potential issue authenticating to an SMB DFS share
• Include RAW image compatibility for additional digital cameras

Directory Services:
• Improve binding to read-only Active Directory Domain Controllers
• Improve binding and login speed for Active Directory users in a domain whose name ends in “.local”
• Improve reliability of Dynamic DNS (DDNS) updates by Active Directory clients
• Allow login with an Active Directory username that contains a space
• Improve compatibility with Active Directory schemas that have been extended with the “apple-user-homeDirectory” and “apple-user-homeurl” attributes
• Fix home directory Dock item for Active Directory users with mobile accounts
• Allow NIS users with MD5-hashed passwords to log in

I’ve read some complaints that the Airport Utility version 6.0 (the one you’re talking about with the “IOS” look) has reduced functionality vis-a-vis earlier versions.

If you find this to be the case, you can also download the newly-released version 5.6. They can both be installed and co-exist in the same Utilities folder.

I also used version 5.6 to do the firmware update on my Airport Extreme router.

You should always update. You may not think there is nothing there but the listed updates are just a superficial listing. There are dozens if not hundreds more not listed, as well as numerous security improvements. The security improvements ARE published elsewhere and the bad guys do exploit the now revealed vulnerabilities to attack the guys who think they don't have to update because "there is nothing there for me!"

Thanks for the heads up! I recently bought a 27" iMac and I'm in the process of "going over to the dark side." Of course I still need Windows computers at home and work for my job, but I'm learning... So far the majority of my experience has been installing Chrome and playing "Angry Birds."

I upgraded to a 27” Imac recently and am having hard time using 10.7.2. At 78 I was very comfortable with the older system especially iPhoto...

After many issues with plugins & poor performance in general, I had gone back to 10.6.8. My inner geek demanded I give Lion another try with the update. THANKFULLY, all my music making doodads are working as they should.

Anyone else having weird permissions issues with Lion?

Recently upgraded from a 3 yr old 17” Mac laptop to a new 21” iMac. It has a SSD that runs the OS and apps, but my home folder is on an internal terrabyte drive. Yesterday I had iMovie refusing to create new projects, Preview refusing to launch, and System Preferences refusing to update/save changes I made. My wife fixed it all by putting some permissions-fixing code in through the Terminal.

BTW, the SSD is very fast and totally worth it. It will restart and go back to where I was in about 30 seconds, even if a lot of stuff was running. :D
