(Vanity) How to put a comment on the login name?
February 4, 2012 | Self

How does one put a comment beside the login name?. I see several people have one and I would like to add one to my name (i.e., next to ProudFossil)

Thank you

Click on the “reply” link under a post, like this one. Below the comment box is a line that says “Tagline”. Just enter in what you want, and hit post, and it will show up, and should remain there for future posts.

Post a reply to this thread. Just under the box where you enter your thoughts you will see a small tagline box. Once you enter something here it always shows up until you change it.

If you are talking about a tagline, it is below the white box when you make a reply. There is a blank white strip that you can put a comment (tagline) in and it will stay there until you change it. It is just above the “spell” “preview” and “Post” boxes.

Directly underneath the space where you write your reply is a smaller space labeled "Tagline".

Just stick 'er in there.

Just put your cursor in the “to” box and hit backspace to delete the name to leave it blank. You can also add names, or post to “all.”

And to continue, “All” doesn’t actually do anything, in the sense that it doesn’t ping anybody, so it’s a lot like just clearing the field.

If I post to “ALL” it means I am the smartest in the internets!

It’s easy enough that you can do it inadvertantly. It’s the field at the bottom of the reply screen that says “tagline.” Just click inside the field and type whatever you want there, within the limitation of the length of the field.

I must’ve hit the tab key by accident or something, because I popped up with a plus sign in mine, just noticed it this morning. Sort of like it, so I think I’ll leave it for a little while at least.

You’ve been a member since 2001 and you don’t know about taglines? wow.

Just reply with nothing in the “to” box. Since I just did it as a demonstration, you have no idea I posted this as a response so it will go unread and is a total waste of my time come to think of it. Oh well.
