I’d have that vet’s head on a stick *and* my dog back.
If indeed her vet actually lied to her. She may be lying about the vet.

But she is an adult and she signed the contract. What I would have done is taken the dog home and euthanized it myself. But that’s just me.
tacky to charge cremation fees but a cremation fee is probably pretty cheap next to the surgeries, antibiotics, etc that the dog needed...
besides, he could refund the cremation fee and then hand her a bill for several thousand dollars...that probably went thru her head as well..
And I'm sure you would be willing to pay the $1,800 to reimburse the rescue agency for the monies spent to rehab your dog..........

You got that right. I had a vet try to tell me my dog Buddy probably had cancer and he would likely not make it. I looked at the guy like he was insane and told him the dog ate a bad toadstool in the yard dude. After a couple of days in ICU and 2 weeks of Denosyl ( a liver supplement) and $1,200 in vet bills Buddy snapped back and is currently in the peak of health 4 years later. Needless to say we have a new vet.
In a hearbeat, and you know it!
And, I’d be at that Vet office with an Attorney first thing in the morning, AND I’d be making a complaint to the Vet Association. I’d have his license on my wall, or on the floor for my dog to do his business on.
