Need a little help with a graphics card problem.
I purchased a graphics card, JATON. It is PCI (not PCI-E). It has a DMS-59 connector on it. Just found out that this card is used to support 2 monitors.
I can get an adapter cable on line, DMS-59 to VGA. The cable would be a "Y" set up with 2 VGA connectors on it. Question is, can I run just one monitor, or do I have to run 2?
My machine is an older Dell; Dimention 2350, Pentium 4, 1.5 ghz.
I got this card cheap, real cheap. It is new. I'd like to use it if I can. The adapter cable will only cost me about 10.00.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No problem. You can run just one monitor. You can also get a Y connector cable with one VGA and one DVI if you want an option to a higher quality video image later.
Since I have no idea what you are talking about, I suggest you upgrade to the DMS-60.
If I’m not mistaken, the DMS-60 comes with a Rich Corinthian Leather Interior while the DMS-59 only comes with Leatherette.
You will have to places to put a monitor but windows will only detect one if only one is plugged in to the y thingy.
It's really dependent on your graphics driver. If you have Windows XP, it's likely that you can use a single monitor. Windows will realize that you have only a single monitor plugged in, and will put your desktop on it.
In the unlikely event that it doesn't do that, you can simply right click on the desktop, select "properties", and then the "settings" tab.
Select the monitor you want, and make sure that the "use this device as my primary monitor" box is checked. Select the other monitor, and turn OFF the checkbox labeled "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor".
A lot of Nauga's died for that DMS-59 interior!
