Photo of the Day (Mitt can sure pack them in...NOT)

Today in Detroit the Mittster delivered his “much touted” economic speech to the Detroit Economic Club. And it went over about as well as you’d expect it to. Via Sarah B. Boxer at the National Journal:

Wrapping up a much-touted economic speech at a football field here on Friday, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney fumbled the message ball.

Answering a question about a possible fall matchup with President Obama, Romney said he has the best chance of defeating the incumbent and went on to say he will be a friend of Michigan, a state defined by its relationship cars. He then mentioned how many he has himself.

“I love this country. I actually love this state. It just feels good, being back in Michigan,” Romney said. “I like the fact that most of the cars I see are Detroit-made automobiles. I drive a Mustang and a Chevy pickup truck. Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs, actually. And I used to have a Dodge truck, so I used to have all three (big automakers) covered.”

The reference to the sheer number of cars he has, and his wife’s two high-end cars, is likely unhelpful to a candidate who is trying to shake an image as a wealthy elitist out of touch with the economic worries of everyday Americans

Lol, they’d have all fit in the Mens Room!

Just heard Newt bragging on Gretas show about the “big crowds” in Washington state...450, 600, 800 people with 200 more standing outside in the rain.

I’m sure I am not alone in remembering Sarah Palin drawing 20,000 people to events not that long ago.

Not to take up for Romney, but I find it ironic how the media can put a bad light on the republicans and their crowds- A number of times stories of the democratic rallies would be over estimated: though in truth, many crowds were much lower than the media falsely portrayed. Accounting would follow later of the actual number that attended/ these stories commonly seem to be buried in the on line web news. The main objective to picture an image of popularity and a strong following for that politician/or candidate. (The media plays dirty for their agenda)

How many came out to see Newton tonight? What venues was he at in MI?

Not to take up for Romney, but, does anyone realize that this was a local Detroit Economics Club event, not a Romney political event?

The local club actually outsold their capacity and moved the event to a new locale. Their original venue did not support the responses so they moved it the best place they could get space.

Seriously, Romney has an event booked that he showed up for that was not what he originally signed up for. Where is the issue here?

No doubt - if the media used the same standard to estimate the “crowd” at that Romney event as they do for Leftist events like the “Million Moron March”, or the other racist/Marxist events (including many of the Occupy frauds) - then this Romney event would be headlined:

“Romney draws 750K to Ford Field for Epic Speech”

Sludge and Coulter are probably busy worshiping at the alter of Mitt. You know he is the most conservative of the candidates.

I got a call from the RNC wanting to me to give them $1,000 for the campaign. I told them that I was really p.o.’ed by the RINO establishment elite inside the DC beltway trying to jam Mittens down my throat. I told them the RNC could go to Hell along with that liberal hack Romney. I told the caller it would be a cold day in Hell before I gave the Republican Party a single dime — then I hung up. [I feel much better now.]
