It is the home of Hollywood, Disneyland, Silicon Valley, and all manner of strange and beautiful people. But a new poll reveals that California, the most populous state in the U.S., is also the most disliked of all.
Republicans harboured the most intense dislike for the Golden State, according to the survey, which showed opinions of states was a partisan issue that had a gender divide.

Public Policy Polling asked Americans in all 50 states about their impression of each state.
California finished dead last, with only 27 per cent of Americans saying they viewed the state favourably and 42 per cent saying they had an unfavorable opinion of it.
Hawaii was the favorite state, with 54 per cent of Americans saying they had a favourable view, and only 10 per cent viewing the Aloha State negatively.
Republicans said Texas and Alaska were their favorite states, while Democrats liked Hawaii, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington.

Putting politics aside...I actually love California. I have some family there. I’m fascinated by the flora. The sea is just lovely and there are many attractions.
About the only people moving to the failed state of CA is illegals. It will soon be like Greece.

California once gave the nation Ronald Reagan and the tax revolution sparked by Prop. 13. Now it leads the way in unhinged environmental legislation and public sector unions suing to keep citizens from voting on government pension reform.
People living with frigid, icy winters, where everything appears like a gloomy grave yard for months on end, and those living with choking hot summers with uninhabitable humidity, with bugs the size of sparrows, hate California.

I don’t hate California. I think it has much natural beauty and interesting weather.
I just strongly dislike the people who live there.
It is a beautiful state with great weather, beaches, forests, mountains, lakes, etc.
It is rotting out morally and economically from within due to a takeover by leftist, statist authoritarians.
Sooner or later, Atlas in California will shrug. Hopefully their failure will cause some to rethink our present national course at some point in time.
I love my state, I Just hate the people who live here. Its like the acid was put in the water in the 60s and every ones parents or they took it. Idiots. At least I live In A county that is solidly red... For now.
I don’t think normal people dislike California because of the weather. I think normal people dislike California due to the overwhelming stupidity and sloth of the majority of the state’s people. I mean, look at who they elect. Obviously there are also a lot of good, decent people still hanging in there but they are in the minority, by a mile.
Like the hopeless alcoholic, California needs to wake up one afternoon in a dumpster covered in its own urine and vomit. Only after the state "hits bottom" can it hope to recover. Until then, let's just pray we at least have a solid Republican majority in the House so the nation's taxpayers aren't burdened with bailing out the place and thereby forgiving its sloth and corruption.
Already forgot it: When I want SUN, I go to Florida. When I want SEA, I take my boat out in the Gulf of Mexico. When I want SURF, I go to a local seafood joint and order SURF & Turf.
I loved vacationing in California when I was there. It is beautiful and has a wide variety of activities to do. Saying that, i would not want to live there for numerous reasons. Yep their politics suck.
I lived in CA for years (in the central valley: Merced, then Davis, then Sacramento (Citrus Heights)). I loved it; never a dull moment there. You can grow anything. Thousands of things to do, including for free. Stunning scenery. Gorgeous state.
But....omg what the liberal bastions of SF and LA (and their environs) have done to that lovely state. They’ve positively ruined it as a viable place to either live or, especially, do business.
There is no longer enough money to get me to relocate back to California.
