It almost sounds like Carbonite’s owner Mr. Friend had been a sponsor of Rush’s show so that he could make a big splash with some fake indignation at just the right time.
It is despicable, if that is the case. For some reason, I don’t think this conspiracy calls for a tin foil hat.
I think it was probably just good business. He probably knows that more small business owner customers can be found listening to Rush than sitting in Starbuck's sending email on their laptops and that those are the people who would have more valuable data storage to protect.
