Bobby Scott scored in 1956 with
Chain Gang, a song which features a drum roll right out of Ray Anthony's
Dragnet.
Lawrence Welk also had a hit with this tune. From what I understand, Bobby Scott later released some albums on Columbia during the 1960's.

Amazing how many songs you can remember and forget after 56 years. Genesis I remember; Gabriel, not so much. I'm amazed at how I can remember songs. On August 20, 1961, I was traveling from Laramie, Wyo. to Denver in a 1958 Edsel Villager station wagon when I heard a song on the radio whose lyrics caught my attention. I never heard the song again until February 28, 2012, when I again heard it over the radio. After 50+ years, I was finally able to identify the song as Poor Folks by Bill Anderson, a hit in the summer of 1961.
