Most garlic in its various forms sold in this country comes from China as do apple products.
This is one of my pet peeves. For years Gilroy, California was The Garlic Capital of the World. And now all the garlic I see at the supermarket is imported from China. Why? I refuse to buy it, and will search until I find native garlic. Even if it costs more, I don’t care. I’m not buying garlic that’s been shipped halfway around the world in the hold of some tramp steamer from the totalitarian country with the largest remaining Gulag on earth.
