PALMS (CBS) — A Westside [LOS ANGELES]woman was found dead on Thursday after she apparently killed herself by using a chainsaw, police said.

The victim was found about 12:40 a.m. by her sister in the bedroom of her townhome in the 3600 block of Keystone Avenue near Overland Avenue in Palms, said Sgt. Richard Parks of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Station.

The unidentified 47-year-old woman was discovered with a chainsaw wound on her neck, Parks said.

“At this point, we’re investigating it as a suicide, as she left a suicide note,” he added.

Initial reports claimed the victim was found with the chainsaw tied her neck, but Parks said those reports were inaccurate.

Interesting wrinkle. I’ll need a little more explanation.

I guess it was running when she tied it around her neck? Was she enhancing her cleavage or deepening her butt crack?

okay... that reporter looks a little too happy to be reporting this gruesome story. Makes you wonder if he might have been “first on the scene”...

I’m gonna say right here that there is no way in cowboy hell I’ll believe a woman tied a chainsaw to her neck, and then had the knowledge, and gumption to start the damned thing and then to throttle the trigger....no way!

This is about as appealing as getting your balls caught in a meatgrinder. Hasn’t she ever thought of pills??
