Strategically placed coins and flowers. Not too metaphorical. And is the movie better than O’Reilly and Illinois election coverage?

The movie was made during the depression and filled the lives suffering under it- who were poor and in need of something beautiful.

Yes, skip O’Reilly.

You have my interest up. I’ll switch between the primary coverage and the film. Thanks for the movie tip.

Yup!

America in the Depression: the lovley “girl next door” Ginger Rogers sings “We’re in the Money” (in Pig Latin!)

Germany in the Depression: the very talented (but not nearly as adorable) Lotte Lenya sings “Pirate Jenny”

It’s a fun film, but I really wish they had found a more talented actress than Ruby Keeler to play the lead.

Ginger Rogers and Joan Blondell are always a treat.

Really? I like Ruby. Will try to pay closer attention.

Also, one of the greatest character actors ever is here, Guy Kibbee.

Yes, skip O’Reilly.

Only the last three years. I was slow to learn, I guess?

And after that, an old Bogart flick. Beats election returns, hands down.

You’re not going to find me arguing about My Man Godfrey. That also is one of the greatest films of all time, I would have mentioned it but I didn’t know it was scheduled.

Anyway, I love GD of 1933...

“Peabody, you’re disgusting.”
