Seven of Nine was Eleven out of Ten. At least.

Yeah, Picard said “we strive to better ourselves.” Funny how so many TNG episodes were about those not quite bettering themselves as well as others.

It’s hypocrisy when you also have to deal with resources and treaties over resources and fighting enemies that want those resources, etc.

If they could replicate dilithium then half of the shows would be more plotless.

I see your point, but nothing is "free" ultimately. "Someone" has to come fix things when the pipes burst, and the electrical grid goes down. And those folks don't get out of bed at 3am for nothing. And getting back to Star Trek, the high and mighty explorers may beam down to planets where money or gold or whatever is valuable talks. The planet's denizens aren't going to be too thrilled with "we don't use that icky MONEY". In fact in one of the Harry Mudd episodes, the Enterprise needed dilithium crystals. The miners decided to deal with Mudd instead of Kirk. Their price? Women.

Kirk could wave all kinds of filthy lucre in their faces, but the "currency" was female flesh.

You do realize that that bimbo is single handedly responsible for Hussein being in the White House, right?

On the other hand, Janeway and Sisko will offset the awesomeness.

LOL!

Or the guy who cleans the Enterprise's toilets.

Just get the ones from Lexx, and they could not only save on the cleaning, but TP too.

I know what you meant but I’ve seen that argument on Fr before. It was not only her hubby’s activities that were out on display but the media pounced on the story and got what they wanted. Maybe you should also blame Mike Ditka who turned down the nomination for the seat, as he also admits the “what if” blame if he indeed took the opposition against Odumbo.

Fascinating. But you missed the original USS Enterprise Captain. Of course a little time travel would be required for Jeffrey Hunter to attend. ;)

Wonder if TOS would have become such a cult favorite had Jeff Hunter decided to keep going with the series.

He was a cool guy and all, but Shatner's hothead/over the top portrayal of Kirk probably made it more enduring.

I’ll be seeing Mulgrew in August at ShoreLeave 36.

Now, Trekkies, name all the Starfleet captains. There was a card subset of 9 (including James Cromwell, Paul Winfield, etc), but there were more “captains”.

Hint: Brian Dennehy’s daughter was one. So was one of the original ST actors.

I remember that commie Cromwell playing the world leader of a planet that wanted to jail the super human soldiers of their homeworld as their existence embarrassed their application to the Federation.

But send us pics of your time with Kate M on FR. :)

Combine Kirk’s gung ho methodology with Picard’s analytic nature and you either have the greatest Captain in the universe....or a very confused individual ;)

Technically, we also have to say the missed Sandra Smith, who for a time was captain of the enterprise as well. In the "Turnabout Intruder" episode, both she and Shatner played the roles of James T. Kirk and Dr. Janice Lester, since their minds were switched (as part of Dr. Lester's devious scheme to get even on all men, as I recall).
