A Poll That Hasn't Been Taken,But Should; The Military Vote. Will Libs Stop Overseas Ballets?

Posted on 04/25/2012 4:37:47 PM PDT by Reality_News

The polls are pretty meaningless for now, but will be in Romneys Favor once he picks a VP. What hasn't been brought up yet in the media is the military vote. How many ballets will be coming back? How many will vote to show Obama the door? Can you imagine how the "Rats" will react when they find out that Romney is the choice of our heroes? Will Schumer and Biden stall the mailings of the ballots? Wasn't there a delay in the mailing of oversea ballots last time around?

It wasn’t Bush’s doing. It was the military’s. They made the decision to hold up ballots.

If it happens during the next election, will you blame the military, or Obama?

Military personnel and their dependents—particularly those assigned overseas—are the most disenfranchised voters in America. By some estimates, at least one-third of military absentee ballots go uncounted during each presidential elections.

And the blame for this can be laid squarely at the feet of the Democratic Party and the Pentagon. In 2008, most of the states requesting waivers from laws designed to protect military voters were controlled by the Rats. And, the cities/counties where there were problems with ballots being shipped out late were controlled by...guess who.

As for the folks at the Pentagon, they run for the tall grass every time the subject of military voting comes up. Yeah, they talk a good game, but they never press Congress and the White House on actually enforcing the laws. In fact, the officer in charge of DoD’s voting program is typically a Lieutenant Colonel, so he (or she) has absolutely no horsepower or clout—and that’s by design.

With this year’s presidential election likely to be tight, more military ballots will be lost, sent out late, or rejected than ever before. And you won’t hear a peep out of DoD, Congress or the White House.

In fact, here’s a challlenge for the GOP, should they win retain control of the House and take the Senate. AS their first piece of legislation in 2013, they should past a much tougher military voter protection act, to ensure that ballots are sent out on time, returned and actually counted. The bill should also mandate that DoD develop an on-line voting system (in conjunction with the states), similar to the one already in use in Arizona.

The disenfranchisement of military voters should never be allowed—and can be easily fixed.

You’re barking up the wrong tree there. I was working at the JMMT at that time. It was a decision made by the officer in charge of the mail terminal.
