Look, a candidate whose own supporters have to start every sentence with, “Yeah, I hate him too, but...” is doomed. It’s not rocket science.

I don’t know what EV’s answer is, but I think it is funny that the Obama campaign is trying to portray Romney as a right wing zealot, and there is a reason for that. If Romney is seen as a moderate, with the economy, esp the housing market, being as bad as it is, then states like Oregon and Washington will be in play, just like 1980. Thats why it is kind of funny that as Obama is calling him a right winger, conservatives are calling him a socialist. What a strange election cycle.

“Obama care”......brought you by Romneycare....socialism and govt. tyranny at its finest

“No religious freedom”.....like Romneycare forcing Catholics to provide contraceptives and abortion on demand?

“High gas prices”....like Romney supported in multple speeches as Gov of Mass?

“embryonic stem cell research
tax dollars for abortion
Tax dollars for birth control”.....just as it was laid out b the architect of socialized healthcare in America....Willard Romney

Must be nice to be able to flush your principles (assuming Romneybots have any) and vote for anything with an R behind it with relative ease.

The bottom line is if Mitt doesn’t get enough votes, it’s because of Mitt. If people do not vote for him, it’s because of Mitt and his record, and his flip-flopping, and what he’s done. Simple as that.

Hear! Hear! And it is that simple....Romney's had more time than any other candidate to convince us he's more than what he has proven to be....he can't because there's nothing there substantial...and the people know it.

Here's food for thought as well.....

...."Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens.... They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest,... and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people,.... In Order To Betray Them."

(Joseph Story,... Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833)

100% agree. Can anyone point to a candidate that has won when a significant portion of their base has that opinion?

I think winning an election requires a motivated base...being the “ABO” candidate isn’t enough to win.

Independents vote. Your base campaigns. Winning without your base is almost impossible.

Sorry, but no.

Back Romney or you back Obama. The choice is yours.

The Republic is at peril.

The calls I've been getting from Romneys foot soldiers say nothing about his policies...it's 'all' about taking out Obama...and with lots of hype about not letting him win another four.....this is the it of it...fear mongering comes across clearly.

The Republic is infinitely more imperiled by conservatives who have completely compromised all the principles of conservatism.

Obama is a wounded leader. His own people are ready to turn on him and will once he trips up bad enough to bring the Feds and Congress down on himself.

If we ignore our principles and vote in Romney, whose record is little better than Obama's, then the left will unite and unleash havoc. Probably claiming Romney "stole" the election, while we (the conservative right) will be divided. IMO, Romney WILL enslave us, if he must, to meet their demands. What's about to happen is straight out of the George Soros playbook for collapsing a country.

So, there's a bunch of trouble coming no matter who wins the presidency (if we make it that far). Our best option would be to unite and elect a strong conservative who will begin to turn the ship around. It still means blood in the streets. But a strong leader will see us through it and the country will emerge stronger on the other side.

Our second best scenario is if Obama is reelected. He will be a burden to the Left's agenda. Hell, Louis Farrakhan has already been making threatening statements about him. A second term Obama will unite the right like the British did at Concord.

The worst thing for conservatives, would be to elect a weak republican leader whose record on socialism, abortion, gun rights, taxation, and big government are little better than Obama's.

In any event, there's a lot that's going on in the world and much that will happen between now and November. May God be with us for we are in a dangerous time. Indeed, may we endeavor to be on God's side through these strange times.

I hope I'm wrong...

Regards,

>>By the way, save the Romneybot talking points for someone like yourself who easily caves to support anything with an R behind it.<<

I’m a registered Independent. I don’t support anything with an R and have voted for dems before.

You can’t see the forest for the trees. You are blinded by your prejudgement of those who want Anyone but Obama. I don’t want my kids living under Sharia or Communism. You may not know anyone who has lived under either of those but coming from a Slovak Parish with many Chaldeans attending, I know both. They see it under Obama, not anyone else.

There will be no conservatives. Your principles will not put you into any better position. However, getting rid of the Marxist in the White House who is destroying us, will.

See the little “Google Analytics” that pops up on the side when you are using Ghostery? They are watching you, even here, and taking notes. Running headlong into Communism coupled with our Islamic enemies is foolish.

Oh I agree, it is going to be interesting which side wins the argument though. At this point, most independents probably think both sides are nuts, but the economy still sucks, so who knows how it is going to turnout, not me.

IMO we need a general more than we need a President...either that or Gandhi with a shillelagh...

In my mind, I would love to ask the spirit of President Reagan one question.

Mr. President, have we passed the point where we, or our children, can expect to have any profitable intercourse with our government? Are we now in that state of affairs, described on the Declaration, when a patriot’s duty is to throw off their government and provide new guards for their future security?

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established, should not be changed for light and transient causes; and, accordingly, all experience [has] shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce [the people] under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.” —Thomas Jefferson: Declaration of Independence, 1776. It’s ok. I have tin foil surrounding my computer...

...and I’m still not voting Romney.

If you vote for a candidate who supports tax payer funded abortions, and socialized healthcare, etc.....you own it.
