School will soon be out. WOO-HOO!
Is Marissa as ready for it as you are? LOL
Happy weekend to the Just Family!
Thank You! You Too!
Thank you, Teenie.
Two more weeks of school!!! Yeah!!! I’m so tired of getting up at 5:30.
Right now, Marissa is more than ready but by June 15th, she will be bored. I’ve been trying to find things for her to do. A week of swim lessons and a week of VBS. I had her signed up for a 4-day 4hr camp at the church where she attends AWANA. Guess What!! She is too old. LOL She signed up for guitar lessons but it is limited to 6th grade or younger. Also, she will be too old for AWANA next year. I’m going to check the cost for a few guitar lessons. I know we will have to drive to Fresno, but this is something she wants and needs since she is musical and loves to sing.
I’m looking forward to the weekend. A time to vegetate.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Weekend.
Thank you, Teenie.

I wonder if LTOS can give lessons via the Internet!!! LOL

What the heck happened??!!!!! I guess I stuttered.
“As I walk along lifes pathway,
Though the way I cannot see,
I shall follow in His footsteps,
For He has a plan for me. Thiesen”
Thank you for today’s lesson,Rus.
Beautiful, Meg. Thank you!!
Wishing you a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.
I start my guitar students at age 6 or 7.
LOL
Great to see Jonah supporting the troops, LTOS. Thank you.
Wishing you a great day.
BUT...Any instrument (especially guitar) should be open ended. You NEVER are too “old”.
Jonah is a great supporter of the Troops.
But he is particularly fond of the Coast Guard.
Thanks for bringing class to Amy’s. I’m praying for our nation.
Thanks, Teenie.
Happy birthday, Perry.
Yorkie, thanks for letting us know that it is Perry Como’s 100th birthday. He was one of the good guys. We always enjoyed watching his show. He was a Gentleman!
Wishing you a delightful Friday, Yorkie, and a Blessed weekend.
I bought her a guitar last year for this Sports Camp. She had four days of lessons. She was looking forward to the camp again this year.
The camp is just offered to students in the 6th grade or younger. She really wants to be able to use the guitar when she sings. She strums it when she sings but does not use the pick.
I’ll make a call to see what I can do about lessons.
I'd check with a music store and see if they could recommend someone to teach her guitar. I have no idea what is charged these days. My Dad taught just about every kid in the neighborhood to play guitar and organ and never charged a dime as he wanted everyone to know music. (I, unfortunately, didn't have the interest...*sigh*) Yes, I do regret it.
If she can learn 4-6 Chords in the key of G (G, Em, C,D7, Am, A major)She will be able to play hundreds of songs. With Just six easy chords. Here are some of the 4-6 Chord songs I teach my kids:
El Condor Pasa
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Stand By Me
Love me Do
Eight Days a Week
Teardrops on my Guitar
Amazing Grace,
Born To Be Wild
Wild Night
As Tears Go By
Brown Eyed Girl
Three Little Birds
Plus I encourage the kids to make up their own songs.
Hope you are feeling a least a little better. Prayers continue for relief!
Have a great FRiday! (Any possibility in that?)
I’ve loved Perry Como for a LONG time!
