"Fear not" ... is this ever difficult for many of us. Our childhood instilled many of us with irrational fears, that tend to stay with us all our lives. Fear of flying, fear of (claustrophobia) places we can not get out.

At about 4/12 or 5 years of age I was put in a dark dirt cellar as punishment for going our of the yard. Maybe only a few minutes, but I was frightened and couldn't see in the dark. Living in a small farming community of of a few dozens of families scattered about. An only child. My Mother argued against it, but my Daddy ruled.

It is still a difficult thing. In a dentist chair, especially when they want to lay one back in a reclining position. Horrible. I can hardly keep from running out. I do give my fear to God; and it comes back. I do see I have survived it, and I am Okay; but a dark dirt cellar that has spiders, and snakes as cautions to guard against marked my emotions and imagination ... irrational fear, I know.

Father, thank thee for thy grace, kindness and comfort, blessings and love. I am humbled before thee. In Jesus name amen.

SHAME on those that abandon an animal. or that mistreat and are cruel to an animal. One thing I know we can help sustain life and we can offer comfort and a home to an animal and receive comfort and faithfulness back, but one thing we can not do and that is give life back to an animal that is killed whatever the manner.

We either build up or we tear down.

I have about 15 or so box turtles. Really too many for my yard. Now I am concerned if I take some of the males off to a golf course or park they will not know how to find food. I have been feeding them some of them for a few years and some I just rescued from the street recently. Made a mistake in not marking them in some way so I know which are the latest arrivals, etc. There are about 4 baby turtles this year.

God blesses turtles too.

I do not know if people who abandon their pets are clueless or just don't give a damn darn. I'm sure low cost spay and neuter would be offered if they did some research.

We have crazy drivers in California also. Driving country roads you see everything. It is scary having someone pass over a double line at a blind intersecion to pass you.

A few years ago, someone passed me just before an intersection and went right through a stop sign. He had several kids in his car, so I layed on my horn. He stopped so, I pulled alongside, rolled my window down and asked him if he didn’t see the stop sign. He just glared at me. Guess I’m lucky that was all he did.

God Bless all of His creatures, Geo. So many of them depend on us for their care and safety. Seeing an abandoned dog just breaks my heart. They look so sad and forlorn ... seem to be asking Why???.

When we go to Fresno, we pass a small farm with several goats. There are always one or two atop a stump, a dog house or anything else they can find to climb. :)
