You need to pay closer attention Julia.
The American people have made their expectations known for many years, regarding much smaller government, secured borders, end subsiding millions of illegals, less taxes, less controlling, intrusive government etc.
We got none of that Julie. Just the opposite in fact.
Oh ... you don’t even want to be around me when I am talking about these issues... but hey...I lived in a blue district and and a blue state.
Now they are red ... so ... I can actually go to my congressman’s office...
I will be volunteering. I get to make smartass comments on his Facebook account when all the liberals are citing DAily Kos and calling him a traitor for bringing outside business in....

I used to think the same thing, but I have to disagree with you. The American voters are so ignorant that they will vote more enthusiastically for the idiots on American Idol than they will for a government that the founders wanted us to have.
I live in the most conservative county in Florida (maybe in the U.S.). I just finished reading the Sunday paper and the letters to the editor made me want to throw up. Here is one of them:

BE NOT A CANCER ON THE EARTH. LEAVE ROOM FOR NATURE.
