Why I Won't Vote For Romney
Tea Party.org ^ | 5/17/12 | John Alan

Posted on 05/17/2012 8:20:19 AM PDT by not romney

Because I want to defeat Obama. The Romney argument from day one has been 'you have to vote for Romney because he's the only one that can beat Obama'. I won't vote for Romney precisely because I know he will lose to Obama. A few examples as to why he'll lose:

Romney's positive approval rating has been 20 points below even McCain and Dole's who both ended up losing. It will probably start to rise with the end of the primary, however this is before the Obama Nasties open fire with both barrels, and Romney is a very target rich environment.

McCain lost to Obama by five million votes. The retort is 'yes but the luster is off Obama this time', true, but the luster has never been and never will be on Romney. The apathy on the right is every bit as apathetic as the apathy on the left. However in addition to apathy there is almost a disdain on the right for Romney and the GOP. Romney will lose three types of voters. 1. Unmotivated voters who won't bother to turn off 'Dancing with the Stars' to go vote. 2. Voters like myself that know Romney is a liberal and are disgusted with the dishonest corrupt campaign he and the GOP have run. 3. Voters that hate Romney so much that as soon as the word 'Romney' leaves your mouth the conversation is over. So from where is Romney going to get his votes?

Vote and the choice is yours; don’t vote and the choice is theirs.

Not voting for Mr. Romney is a vote for Mr. Obama. Do you REALLY want four more years of Mr. Obama?

“Bill is much more the pragmatist”

The bent one is the most dangerous man in politics today. He is an ultra, ultra, ultra liberal, but he succeeds in convincing people he is not. Boil away all the BS and the truth comes out.

When did we have the most restrictive gun control passed in the last forty years? When did we have the largest tax increase at a time the economy was actually improving? When did Eric Holder get his start at the Justice Department? When did we just barely escape a health care fiasco that would have been worse than zerocare?

The one good thing about zero is that he is so absolutely incompetent and transparent, that his motives are obvious. Slick Willie earned that name for a reason. If he hadn't stirred up the population with gun control and there hadn't been a landslide in 1994, God help what the country would have become.

And your boy Romney is an improvement how? Weak kneed congressional Republicans will rubberstamp every Romney socialist policy that comes their way. The same policy from zero would at least get cursory resistance.

I would crawl over broken glass to vote AGAINST Obama! This is NOT political, this is personal! He has mocked every institution that I stand for, and he has destroyed this country’s economy and freedoms beyond recognition. And after I vote for Romney and he wins...I’ll shift my focus to Romney and start hating his ass as much as I do Obama’s now. And I can promise you I will keep pushing for a conservative in 2016. But since I’m already standing on the deck of the Titanic and the only thing left to do is rearrange deck chairs while she’s sinking...I’m doing it!!! Because standing around bitching about the iceberg is not an option for me.

If Romney loses it is precisely because people like this will not vote for Romney. If nothing else the guy could at least acknowledge he will vote against Obama.

Then you may as well go ahead and vote for Obama then.

Vote for Romney to stop Obama.
Then elect conservatives to Congress to stop Romney.

Simple!

Yes. Sometimes I read writing from ‘tea party’ representatives like this and wince. I realize there are a lot of people here on FR that need to get into tea party leadership role so our voices can be heard. While we are divided here on Romney, most will be voting in November to get Obama out. There are reasons not to vote for Romney, and I do my best to respect those that feel they are being principled for the long-term fight, but the reasoning from this particular writer is utterly flawed.

Oh, please, come ON. Vote for Romney if you want, but don't try to whitewash him to the point that you have to say things that aren't true. Women in Massachusetts are getting their cheap abortions today, thanks to Romney. He said that he was taught to be pro-choice by his mother, and he held a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood.

Romney will be the pressure on the wound to stop the blood loss. The Tea Party and Conservatives can then find someone to suture the wounds. If Obama stays in, the hemorrhage will just continue.

By NOT voting for Romney, you ARE VOTING FOR OBAMA!
Period!

There is no other candidate positioned to challenge Obama.

Obama will destroy America and you will have no future options to “fix” or replace the Republican party.

I’ve had 3 other candidates I preferred over Romney.
I donated to them and voted for Santorum in the Caucus.

Your excuses for not voting for Romney don’t matter.
ONLY RESULTS MATTER!!!
And the result of following your intention is the destruction of America!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isn’t it? Haven’t we had hundreds of these threads? And hundreds of FReepers zotted over their stand for or against Romney?
But take heart. The election is only 5 and 1/2 months away. Only a thousand or more of these similar threads to come. And then we’ll be done with then.
Yippee.
Such deep reasoning causes me to ignore this article.
