A co-worker of mine who happens to be gay posted a picture of what was allegedly a church sign saying "I never told LGBT folks they couldn't marry. The bigots don't speak for me. Signed, God."

THAT flew all over me. So since they wanted to use religion to justify themselves....I shot back with this series of four jpegs.... Enjoy!

I have made the statement “If God doesn’t punish this country and soon,He will owe Sodam and Gommorah an apology”.

Some of us think of S&G as a picture of the Rapture.

(Of course, you have to believe in the Rapture in order to “get it”...)

Lot and family were imperfect. There are few antiheroes quite like Lot in any literature I've seen. Yet He and they are a picture of the imperfect Church being removed from the world before final judgment is laid upon it.

Lot's wife didn't really want to leave, and looked back, not curiously (”what's happening?”) but longingly (I'm being forced to leave my home”); she is, IMHO, is a picture of those who are on-paper “members” of a church but not Believers/Members of the Church.

If he wouldn’t say it to a Jew/Muslim/Buddhist/Hindu, he shouldn’t say such things to you.

A better move would have been to feign offense at his email, talk to HR, and get him fired.

Christ was very kind to unbeliever sinners, i.e. “Go forth and sin no more.” He acted entirely differently toward the Pharisees. I submit He's not going to go any easier on the so-called Christian churches that are backing gay marriage. It's one thing if a secular agency says gay marriage is OK. It's something entirely different, and far, far worse, when apostates preach immorality in Christ's name. All I can say is I wouldn't want to be in a pro-sodomite pastor's shoes when Christ returns.

Homosexuality is unlike most sins. An adulterer, for example, is still using their body as it was designed. Adultery is a sin against God, but it's not against nature. Homosexuality, on the other hand, is an affront to both the natural order as well as God. How in the world can some people who profess to be Christian reconcile unrepentant homosexuality with Christianity? What kind of mental gymnastics enable them to do that?!?

One thing about libs (and MANY here have experienced this phenomenon and talked about the experience) is that you can be friends with them for years, and then you reveal something about your conservative viewpoint, and suddenly you are an evil monster in their eyes.

It is fundamental to many leftists that somebody who is not a leftist (and is not persuadable to come over to the Left) is thereby evil.

And that attitude is the basis for their stand that we conservatives, or we Christians, want them dead.

God loves them, Jesus died for them too. He loves the person, but hates their behavior. Homosexuality is a behavior, it is NOT the person.

It is incumbant on us as Christians to love them, pray for them, for their salvation; and while doing that, not to be shy about telling them that their behavior is wrong and repunant.

synod—definitely sounds lutheran. i’m lcms. our church didn’t handout anything but they might be saving it for bible class (which I missed the last couple of weeks.) You lcms, wels, els?

I was born and raised Methodist, but have become Lutheran (officially, recently). My daughter and grandchildren are Lutheran. Yes it is LCMS. The booklet is from Concordia.
