All of my kids were born overseas. Each kid, in order, was included on my wife’s passport. Eventually, each kid got their own passport as we went on other PCS tours. Hussein had to have had his own passport when he left Hawaii (if in fact he was born there).
Mine, also. But my child is also a dual Japanese/American citizen, so they're doubly ineligible, by both Jus Soli and Jus Sanguinis principles. I've already explained this to them, and they grasped it right away.
