There are also children who have accidents and have no other options. If he’s having accidents in his pants on the bus or not wiping his bottom, he may be stinky even if he was clean when leaving home.
If he’s in third grade, there isn’t the same level of forgiveness as a kindergartener, but one has to wonder WHY he’s stinking so much.

I know people are shaking their heads at the possibility of a third grader not knowing how to cleanse themselves after toiletry but a few years ago a friend told me her nephew of did not do so into high school. It came to her attention because the uncleanliness had caused cysts on his bottom and the inflection spread into neighboring tissue up to his scrotum, resulting in several surgeries and skin grafts(including a temporary colostomy)
How his mother didn't realize this her aunt had no idea.
