Recommendations for Free or low-cost Online TV and Movie Providers?

I'd appreciate suggestions for online streaming TV and movie providers (other than biggies like Netflix or those from specific cable systems). I've watched a Hulu at times and I think it is legit, but Google turns up a lot of garbage that really looks questionable, or sites that ask for personal information that feel like scams. I'm not a huge TV watcher so it's not worth inviting viruses and malware or putting up with time limits and poor quality feeds.

I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee for a service or site that would allow me to watch classic TV series especially from the 1960s to present.

I’ve tried all three (actually have all three at the current time [Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon streaming]) ... and there’s no question about it - Netflix is, by far, the best choice to make on those three.

I’m going to drop Hulu Plus and I have the Amazon account for other reason and it’s for a year, anyway.

No one beats Netflix ... that’s the bottom-line.

Yeah, we got Netflix and the daughter got hulu+ and we share accounts.

Netflix is MUCH better. Hulu+ has commercials. About 6 commercials for an hour of programming. Ikeep telling her, if I want to watch commercials, I'll watch network tv.

To the OP, grab a Roku from Radio Shack or other retailer for 70 bucks and get netflix for $8/mo. Can't be beat. THOUSANDS of titles to choose from without the $100/mo for 2-300 channels of which you'll watch maybe 20 often and another 20 infrequently and the other 150 not at all.

Roku + Netflix = viable solution

I would agree with one caveat ... if you can wait one season for the current crop of shows, then this is a great setup. I'm on the cusp of dropping Dish and going Roku only. Check out the other available channels on Roku. Even Glenn Beck's GBTV is available as a streaming channel on Roku (for a price). Quite a bit of free channels on there as well.

I just found that roku has some refurbished units for sale @ 25% off + free shipping! I don't know for how long nor do I have any vested interest ... though I do accept tips!

Bump for good info.

The cons now outweigh the pros when it comes to my paying 100 bucks a month for entertainment.

Half the time theres nothing on worth a dam so sportscenter is replayed most all day. The commercials take up more and more airtime. Most of those make me want to ask God for forgiveness for one reason or another.

I never watch primetime on the big four. The commercials I see prove I am not missing anything other then pure filth that pollutes the mind especially our children.
Subjecting them to TV values is of itself a sin.

So I am ready to sever the relationship. Sounds like roku and netflix will save a bunch of debt dollars and sinning.
