Well, the thing that the hippies don’t get is that Japanese eat ANYTHING from the sea.
Sea cucumbers, fish testicles, sea urchin - if you go into a Japanese supermarket the “meat section” is full of fish, octopi, squid, and there’s a really tiny counter for beef.
