I’m guessing they mean methanol produced by fermenting bio-products like corn as opposed to synthesizing methanol from petroleum products like natural gas. Good leftists have to pick the renewable form of course. [rollseyes]

BTW, notice that they never include the production of CO2 during the fermentation process as part of the “emissions”.

And this brings up one of my pet peeves, the refusal of the GOP-e to every call the bluffs of any of these “CO2 is a pollutant” a-holes.

How about just once, the GOP-e tells them “Alright we give up, CO2 is a hideous pollutant that is going to destroy the Earth due to global warming and thus we are going to ban all fermented and carbonated foods and beverages because none of them are essential to life. So no more Sodas, beers, wines or any other liquor for that matter.” Then let’s sit back and see just how bad a pollutant they think CO2 really is.
