I sick of this obama tool relative of mine. In the last 3 months he has been flooding his facebook account with pro obama, anti conservative, anti libertarian, anti constitution, pro socialism, anti religion, pro gay military, anti capitalism, quasi commie sympathetic bullshit. I'm on the verge of de-friending him.
My extended family is of very diverse political beliefs. We generally do not talk about politics much because of this, unless we are certain everyone within earshot is of like politics. Yet this little peon thinks its time to break the age old family mores and go all out for obama...relentlessly and with such arrogance he doesn't even care how stupid the stuff is he is peddling. There is zero caution and zero reserve in his demeanor.
Here's the thing...my facebook account is really bland and low key. I have virtually zero photos. I have no profile pic. I have no personal info. I only put plain jane generic stuff up on my account. Basically simple small talk meaningless junk...and I don't do much of that very often. I don't even use my FB much. But the last 5 times or so I've checked FB I am getting all this pro obama crap to look at and it is coming from ONE relative. That just burns me up.
If I go on the offense to battle this pipsqueek, then I may anger others who voted for obama but refrain from promoting him and may have no plans to vote for him again.
Or, you can cut ties and if ever asked say you grew tired of reading his leftist propaganda.
Seriously, life is too short. Ignore, unfriend, block any e-mails and move on. You can lead a liberal to knowledge but you can’t make him think.
But if you really do want to make him mad just smile and tell him you’ll be praying for him.

To all who say you can block the post from this guy, maybe so. But if you simply defriend him he can post on a mutual friend’s page and you’ll see it. Or if a mutual friend replies to his post, you’ll see it.
Sounds like you can just close your facebook account and not look back. Problem solved.
Pretty easy ... close your facebook account and don’t read his ... instead do something intellectually stimulating like watching “America’s Got Talent” or “Big Brother” or actually just get a life.

My brotherIL, may be the most ignorant political person on the face of the earth.
I love him dearly, yet can not deal with with pro liberal politics.
I have hidden his posts, which does not block or de-friend him, so I do not see what he posts.
However, he can see what I post and he will respond to things I write which are political. I will delete his replies if they are beyond stupid.
I do not want him to be blocked from seeing pictures or other stuff I post, I do not need or want his liberal crap posted and again I will delete what he rights.
I've been adding "Moooo" to my comments for many years as appropriate.
It's how we're viewed, not how we view ourselves.
Its why FB is going to eventually go bust.

Problem solved..
I’d do him the courtesy of letting him know it’s bothering you, and why. You don’t need to get into a word war. On the phone or on FB or somewhere, tell him you are cutting his feed off because you oppose Obama due to his stands on x, x, x, and x.
He’s family and deserves that respect. Who knows, over time, you may even win your brother. Tell him you’re cutting him off, then do it, but be polite. You don’t have to be a jerk and you should not feel like you need to hide what you are doing.
I have a flaming nephew who posts pix of himself wearing tee shirts with (union)fists on ‘em on his FB page..and other patriotic stuff like that.
He lost me when he went postal about getting rid of Walker.
I unfriended him and told him it’s cuz he is an embarrassment to the family...and that my father, his grandfather, a proud conservative, would be ashamed of him.
So much for family harmony. I stand up for core priniciples and don’t give a rat’s rear who it offends.
I have no libs in my repertroire of acquaintances now..only one leftover..a former college roommate..and she’s on a short leash too.
Now on to cull the RINOs ..they’re almost as bad.
Just post a few “NoBama” pictures, and your relative will defriend you; problem solved. ;o)
I would write a scathing OPUS first, though.
The best defense is to IGNORE him. It is the one thing they truly cannot stand.
